Excellent Ambience
What a great surprise finding this place! I stayed there because I had a business breakfast the following morning. Modern and rustic all at the same time. Rooms were excellent, and very spacious. They had that unique balance of privacy and warmth. The service was outstanding, and the staff very friendly. I would definitely stay there again. I wish it was soon.

Stylish comfort in Canberra
I often travel for work and found myself at the Diamont. It was terrific. The food and beverage outlets superb and bedroom facilities very comfortable! I suggest booking direct with the hotel. The staff are fantastic and make a real effort to recognise each and every guest! Great Hotel!

Neither Good Nor Bad
I stayed here for a business trip and booked this hotel through the Entertainment Card as it was only a short walk to the Convention Centre and to the City Centre.Everyone I met at the hotel was friendly and pleasant, while the hotel itself was always clean and tidy. The dark decor made it feel warm and welcoming when coming in from the cold, Canberra streets. The restaurant served good food and was always busy - which I take as a good sign.The only real negatives I can think of was to do with the room. Firstly, the size of the Queen room with bath was pretty small. Admittedly I travelled on my own, so the size wasn't really a problem, but if I was there with my partner then it would have been very ¿¿¿cosy¿¿¿. Secondly, the humming of the mini-bar fridge (pretty much due to the room been small) can be quite loud while sleeping (I do like absolute silence) and finally, there was a gap when the bathroom double doors were closed making whoever was sat on the bed see right through to you ¿¿¿doing your business¿¿¿. That could be very uncomfortable for some people.Despite the above comments about the room, I did enjoy my stay here, and would certainly stay there again but it would have to be in a bigger room and with gap-free bathroom doors!

My favourite Canberra Hotel
I have stayed in this beautiful, stylish hotel several times now and feel I know it well enough to write a fair review. I have also stayed in almost every other Canberra hotel so I know what is on offer. I love walking in on a cold Canberra day to the log fire in the lobby and I love that the staff are always super polite and friendly. I also love the beautifully decorated rooms and it has never been a problem that they are a little small.I don't love that the bathrooms are cold and tend to have poor ventilation - filling up with steam which takes a very long time to dissipate. I also really don't like that the scrambled eggs at the breakfast buffet are so overcooked and have sat there so long they have turned into one huge inedible mound of something which in no way resembles or tastes like egg. Fortunately during our last stay my friend complained to the chef and she (with a smile) cooked us some fresh ones. Those complaints aside, I will definitely be back because overall I love this hotel.

Dark and smelly
Thought I would try a "boutique" hotel for a change. I asked for secure parking and was told it was limited and all booked out and we would have to find parking on the street. My husband is disabled and I drove around and around for about 15 mins before finding a park in a side street a long walk from the Hotel, I wasn't happy and didn't feel safe about this long walk back to the Hotel in the dark, thank goodness it wasn't raining. Difficult to locate room along dark corridors that smelled badly of drains. Room small but clean (apart from someone else's toenail next to the bed) and quiet. Weird glass bathroom door set-up has an open gap in the middle right opposite the toilet.No privacy from noises etc and If you turn the light on in the bathroom at night it is very disturbing. Pillows are good, air-con and tv are good but the mattress is very firm. Bathsheets and shower are good but bathroom mirror is too far away for putting on makeup or (for men) shaving. Definitely won't be staying here again and while an effort has been made with designer furniture and wallpaper on the ceiling, it's still a pokey room that smells. There are more comfortable hotels nearby with secure underground parking for the same price.
