Good Value
A reasonably priced hotel, in the centre of the city. Being located across the road from the botanical gardens provides a really nice peaceful outlook. Service at reception and in the restaurant was very good. The room was nicely decorated and included a desk which was handy to do a bit of work using the free wifi. The bed was very comfortable. The only negative was that the bathroom was a bit dated and had a few cracks and chips that needed some attention, but it was clean.

Great Location
We stayed at this old charm hotel last weekend. Everything about the stay was pleasant. The best thing is the location to the Botanitcal Gardens across the road and the Brisbane River for a bit of sightseeing. It was also handy to numerous restaurants and cafes in the area. All staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a nightcap in the bar where the staff were particularly joyful and fun.

Great Location across from Botanic Gardens
This hotel is so ideally located being close to the city shopping precinct and the river, across from the lovely botanic gardens and about a 10 minute walk around a couple of corners to some of the best restaurants in Brisbane, eg Aria and Cha Cha Char. Southbank is about a 20 minute easy walk through the gardens, along the walkway by the river, across one of the many bridges and voila, your there. Back to the hotel...The staff are very friendly and the hotel has that old world appearance. The rooms are well appointed though we had a shower over the bath feature which wasn't ideal as the floor flooded. Other than that everything else comfortable and would certainly stay there again.

Nice hotel in great location
The is a very clean and comfortable hotel in a great location. It is right outside the gates from the botanic gardens, a few minutes walk from the mall and from QUT. We walked across the pedestrian bridge to south bank. My husband didn't like the fat pillows.we didn't go to the restaurant but it looked good. Also did not go to the spa.

Just delightful
We were fortunate to enjoy the last of the summer days in a Suite in the Royal. The suite itself is basically huge and superbly appointed. This is at a very reasonable price all said and done.Great Bedroom, comfy bed, very well appointed Bathrooms and floor to ceiling window to take in the Botanic Gardens and the River.The Best part of the hotel is always the service. As an example we spend some time at the amazing pool and as there were wedding on some of the guests were enjoying a few home bought beers around the pool. As there is a no glass policy ( and probably BYO ) The waiter came out and explained to the 6 or so boys that drinking stubbies round and in the pool was not on. But to diffuse the situation he bought out a collection of Large Plastic Beer glasses, took the carton to the catering area outside the pool area and everyone was happy. The boys ordered food and enjoyed the day. Not much maybe but that is the way the place works. Just brilliant
