5 star hotel with 3 star service, meals and fittings.
We've frequently visited this hotel over the last 5 years.. Its been approx 6 months since our last stay and wow! The level of service here has certainly gone down.We stayed in a luxury room, which after their reno's are quiet nice. Shame that this particular hotel can have all the nice inclusions that a 5 star hotel should have.. But don't try to iron a shirt here with their dodgy irons! If you don't burn a hole in something, your shirt is bound to be covered in water by time you're finished... I thought the first 2 times we stayed here it was a coincidence, but the iron and I have come to blows again! How hard could it be to fit out each room with a higher quality iron which your guests would feel safe pressing clothes with?Overall, the level of service has deteriorated here big time. They do still put the French twist on everything, but you can clearly see half the staff just don't want to be here. Including the concierge that wouldn't even look at you while he was talking to us on arrival. He was just blatantly rude!We only experience one meal whilst staying here also, as the breakfast on Saturday morning @ $49 per head was below par. A nice range overall, but had all been sitting way too long. If it wasn't stale and dry, it was near cold.. If you have to eat breakfast here, go the safe option and have an omelette cooked for you, at least you know it's hot and fresh! I can however comment that the lunch and dinners are quiet good, as we frequently visit the hotel for Sunday lunch or dinner. I just wouldn't waste my money on breakfast again.. (hence why I'm just about to head to the mall for breakfast this morning).I think next time we need to find a new 5 star location to enjoy our weekends away.. Maybe Stamford or the Marriott? As this time around this particular hotel has more than likely turned us away for good!

Great location, walking distance to central locations. Service from staff was exceptional... from checking in to checking out.. they were all so friendly and helpful. The bed, oh the bed was just so so comfortable it was pure luxury! At bit pricey but hey, you get what you pay for!

Not really a Sofitel standard
The hotel is in a great location like 2 other Sofitels we have stayed - Amsterdam and Melbourne. We were disappointed with the quality of the room however given we paid extra for a Luxury room after we had stayed in Superior rooms previously and wanted something a bit special this time. The website also said it the rooms are ¿¿¿newly refurbished¿¿¿. When I did enquire about a Luxury vs Superior room while at the hotel we were told that all rooms are basically the same but a Luxury room is on a higher floor and has a Nespresso machine ¿¿¿ not quite sure what was luxury about this, and had better amenities ¿¿¿ bit vague. The newly refurbished meant is has new carpet and a coat of paint. The bathroom was tired (apart from the new paint). The bath/shower didn¿¿¿t drain the water properly ¿¿¿ annoying. You had to open both under-counter galley doors to get into the bar fridge. The view was neither of a bustling city or the serene mountains as advertised. The door security latch was falling off. The room was quite however. Also if you are on the treadmill in the top floor gym you get a great view of the window transom at eye height. On the positive side the bed was great as have experienced before and the restaurant staff for breakfast and dinner in the Thyme restaurant were wonderful. Can¿¿¿t say we¿¿¿d stay here again because of the price we were charged for this ¿¿¿Luxury¿¿¿ room.

Luxury
Great central location. Fantastic rooms and service. Attentive, helpful and friendly staff. fabulously comfy bed and pillows bed. Room service, mini bar and bar pricing on the expensive side. Overall a great luxury hotel.

Great place in Brisvagas to stay
Great views, food is awesome in the hotel. Service was good. Rooms very clean and plenty of space to move around. Walking distance to the shops. Parking was abit expensive I think if your staying in the hotel it should be cheaper.
