Nice hotel but undergoing renovation work
Booked a double room for the weekend, upgraded on arrival though not to the best class of room. Nice clean room with a large and comfortable double bed, en suite with nice range of toiletries and powerful shower. The front of the hotel is covered in scaffolding and there is some noise during the day as the renovation process is ongoing, though it's not too intrusive and doesn't start until late morning, finishing early evening. Apparently this is due to continue through the summer with the hotel closing down in August. Having said all that, the hotel is still currently comfortable and the staff courteous and friendly

Modern fawlty towers type experience.
Short story is they were unbelevably rude to me at check in and then i suspect deliberatly gave me a bad room which even still had feaces on the toilet bowl. On top of that i am a 'platinum elite' member of their loyalty scheme though they may not have realised that when they started their rude behavior.I realise i dont have enough room here to list all the shortcomings so will just mention that it started with the check in guy accusing me of swearing at the porter when i arrived. I did not of course which the porter confirmed immediately. Nevertheless, i got none of the usual platinum treatment. No upgrade, no greeting by name etc. room had hard pillows, poor heating, noisy on street plus feaces in toilet bowl. Coincidence?!

Great hotel, noisy weekend location.
I arrived tonight having spent two days away on interview tired and really needing to get a good night's sleep ready for a conference tomorrow morning. The room is fantastic. It feels quality, there are lots of nice touches and it's spotlessly clean. It's a little airless for me, I like an open window, but I find the window policy is the norm. It's 3am, it's Friday night and I'm not asleep because it's really quite noisy out there. I'm five floors up, but the Friday night revelers have made it through my sealed windows and into my space. If it's not the Friday crowd or the pubs and bars close by it's the main road and the ambulance/police sirens that keep wailing past. I imagine this would be perfect in the week but perhaps not this room on a Friday or Saturday. my advice ask for a room at the back /in a quiet area. I wish I'd done that. It's a shame and it's not the hotel's fault. Triple glazing? I don't what they could do. Fingers crossed sleep comes soon, I'm already thinking about breakfast.....

Good hotel in hip, non turist area
We have visited London many times, and know almost every corner of Westend/Mayfair where we usually stay, so when my daughter suggested Shoreditch - an area completely unknown to me - we decided to find a hotel there and check the area out. Crowne Plaza is indeed a good place to stay. It's centrally located in Shoreditch. Away from the turist crowds of Covent Garden and Soho. The rooms are cosy, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpsome and the rate is good. If you want to stay in Shoreditch, I think this hotel gives most value for money. The breakfast buffet is very good, but not included in the price. Actually, I can't find anything bad to say about his hotel.

Great hotel!! Would definately recommend.
We stayed at this hotel just after the bank holiday and was really impressed with the service, cleanliness of the hotel. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly welcome, our room was ready even though we were early. It was lovely and clean and the bathroom was great especially the shower.There was some building work at the hotel and this woke my boyfriend up at 8am. We mentioned this to the hotel manager and he offered to move us into a different room, we didnt take up this offer as it wasnt a major problem. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Liverpool street station but theres a bus stop right outside the hotel if you dont fancy the walk. On our final night we had a meal in the hotels restuarant and have to say this was fabulous with great views of London.
