Ok hotel
The hotel is very expensive although the staff was very considerate and did match the orbitz price for us. The room was on the small side and did not have an in-room safe. The beds seemed less comfortable than at other Marriott properties. The service was very nice and polite.

It was fine - no issues
Stayed nights as part of a flight/hotel package whilst attending a convention at the convention center. Staff excellent. Slightly surprised to be welcomed in person by the General Manager. Check-in slight blip when my allocated room had the security bolt across indicating an occupant - but no screams! New room fine if a little small by USA standards. Otherwise standard Marriott as expected. I'm a Marriott Silver elite member so free wifi (normally $13 per day) and access to the lounge. Wifi was slow in mornings but otherwise fine. Lounge was.on the small side but provided a decent free breakfast and friendly, cheerful staff.Gym is 'compact' and got busy. From recollection 2x bikes, 2x X-traines, and 4x joggers and some other machines - all in decent working order. Small pool i didn't use.For the convention center it was a ~3 block walk to Dupont circle and then a $3.10 (incl $1 for 'paper' ticket) ride to the convention center. Plenty of trains so it was very efficient. About 1/2 hour in all.Not much in the way of food and bars in the immediate vicinity. Its about a 2 block walk to the nearest decent bar.It was a fine stay and I'd be happy to stay again.

Great hotel near Dupont Circle
I landed this room via Priceline Express deal. The hotel was very clean and the room was really nice. I think this hotel really does it right. Staff are very friendly and someone was there to greet you every day. The big plus for me was the gym. It was huge! Not like the closet gyms most hotels try to cram into a place. They also have a nice bar/restaurant area and a pool. Really impressed with everything in the hotel. It seems to attract a lot of business travelers as well as folks vacationing in DC.

Great property
I spent the weekend (5/3-5/6/2013) at the Washington Marriott. The hotel itself is beautiful very comfortable. The bed is fantastic! I was there with my sister and brother and we had two rooms. Kevin at the front desk was wonderful I was hoping for rooms near each other but he made it even better by securing adjoining rooms! The rooms and bathroom are average size. I had breakfast in the hotel and the staff was very attentive and food good. I had dinner at the bar one night which was also good. There is major construction directly across the narrow street which looks like it will be going on for some time (they even work very early on Saturdays!) I would request a room in the back of the hotel so you won't hear the noise. I thought the location was good but a little bit out of the way but still worth it. The hotel is only about 3 miles from Union Station but around a $20.00 cab ride. All in all a great property I would recommend.

Staff saves the day
We were in town for a wedding. Stayed three nights at Washington Marriott, and it seems to be showing its age. I had the feeling they were economizing on everything they possibly could, but giving as little as possible. Now don't get me wrong. The staff was fantastic. Exceptional. But the bed sheets wouldn't stay on because they were so far beyond expiration date. No nice little amenities... not even a little message pad by the phone. Chintzy little coffee arrangement ... and it was all decaf (grrr) The windows don't open, so linens and our clothing took on a certain clamminess. Liked the location, and perhaps I am hypercritical because I held Marriott above the rest. Sadly, if this is any indication, that is no longer the case.
