Very Comfortable and Clean
My only complaint was at check-in I had reserved a King room and somehow they were out of Kings and only had two queens, but yet the hotel was only half full. The rooms are very comfortable, great beds, and the staff are very freindly and helpful. Housekeeping does an incredible job. Very comfortable week long trip on business.

Good hotel
I am staying here for 12 days and am on my 8th day. It's a nice hotel. The rooms are clean, the staff are very polite and the bed is comfortable.The restaurant in the lobby is okay for simple meals but you will tire of it quickly.

My first choice in the area
Just stayed here for 2 weeks on a business trip, and as I packed I realized that I had not had a single negative experience at this hotel over that entire time. The rooms are absolutely spotless, the housekeeping staff do an outstanding job. The front desk staff are always cheerful and helpful. There is excellent free coffee in the lobby. The beds are comfortable. The courtyard is very nice -- during my last stay a colleague did his tai chi there every morning and loved it. Even the small coin-op laundry room is clean and has a helpful sign to tell you how long the washer and dryer cycles are. I really can't imagine staying anywhere else when I am out here for business.

Misleading reservation process
I booked this hotel through Southwest.com as part of a package. I chose the selection that allowed me to pay at checkout, but well before my trip, the hotel was calling me, leaving voicemails at home, emailing, informing me that prepayment was required in order to get the rate specified. Well, when I finally spoke to someone at the hotel (S.Okumura), he told me that authorization of the entire amount, plus incidentals, needed to be "charged," with NO exception. Well, I do not use credit, and I am not the type of person that has $700 extra $ in their checking account for a hotel to authorize (i.e. taking out of my account and not to be used) for a hotel stay over a week out! I used to work in a five-start resort, and I have NEVER heard of a hotel practicing such an outrageous policy. I understand the authorization UPON CHECK IN, but never a week + out. I cancelled my reservation. While the gentleman was cordial-enough, this sort of service is really a shame for the Marriott name. I know hotels, and knowing what I do, the hotel and this person did NOTHING for me.

Courtyard Foster City
The check in was quick, easy, and Eva was very friendly. The property was quiet and clean. I called the front desk at 11pm to get a wake up call, and never got the attendent. The location has several restauarants within walking distance. I walked to Sweet Basil Thai, about 1.5 miles. Had breakfast at the IHOP around the corner.
