Cost effective option with a great location
I stayed here with my husband in May 2013. The check-in was quick. The rooms were spacious, nicely done up and we had a beautiful view of the villas on the hill right at the back of the hotel. The hotel has an adjoining mall with some great food options. Since it is located at the end of the Walk of Fame, it is a perfect location to begin your sightseeing! Moreover, we thought that this hotel was way more economical than most other alternatives in the neighborhood that were at par in terms of ratings and quality.

Location is about the only thing going for it!
We arrived on a Friday night so this could be why the expectations weren't up to scratch. We had a long wait to check in and we were upgraded to the Hollywood sign view. The walls were paper thin and could hear the next room having a domestic. Our room felt stuffy and just basic. Our fire alarm went off on our floor and the cleaners had no idea if we should evacuate( which we scaled down 13 flights of stairs to be told it was a false alarm). They had maintenance works going on the above floor which started at 8:00am on Saturday and it felt like they were drilling into my head!! The location is perfect for any tourist and the access to the shopping mall across the street was very handy. The staff at the front door are very friendly and helpful. I would say after travelling for 10 days and this being a last stay I wanted a bit more relaxation and felt that it was very loud and you were on the go the whole time. Well I guess that's LA!!

A work in progress
The Loews Hollywood hotel is the previous Renaissance hotel right in the heart of Hollywood. If I were rating this hotel strictly on location, I would give five stars. Unfortunately, they are still in the middle of remodeling so there are a few kinks that need to be worked out.1) There is noise during the day due to construction2) Our room, which was recently updated, still looked a little worn3) We were on the 19th floor and the internet service was not the bestAll in all, it was a good hotel for the price and the location, but it was not a hotel that I would rush back to. There was nothing memorable about it.

Very Happy
Stayed here for 7 nights and was very impressed with the location of the hotel, the connection to the mall from the hotel, the room and the staff. The hotel is so close to the thick of the strip, and a 2 minute walk to the hop on hop off bus stop/Chinese theater. There is a cafe downstairs which makes breakfast easy to get. There are some great shops and eateries in the mall that is connected and it feels very safe even at night. The room itself was pleasant and comfortable, the tv was great and it was nice and clean/modern. The only thing I could say is an extra pillow would have been nice (you only get 3). The first night/morning we were in a room next to a crying baby that cried all the way through, we asked the staff if we could be moved and they were very nice and sympathetic and moved us to a quiet room :)

Fantastic and good location
We were really impressed with this hotel. It's clean and nicely decorated and remarkably quiet given it's location. It's located in the Hollywood and Highland center so you are close to everything like the Walk of Fame, Dolby Theatre, Wax Museum, etc. It's also attached to a mall that has plenty of places to eat and shop. Since my husband has mobility issues we opted for the valet parking which was much pricier at $38 than parking in the mall but it was really worth it for us as the service was so attentive and you didn't have to be concerned with how many times you went in and out. We found all of the employees extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was really nice and you could see the Hollywood sign out the window. I would definitely recommend staying here.
