After working hard for the last few years it was time for a "stop and smell the roses" week. We stayed 5 nights in this Hotel and even before I arrived I upgraded my room on the 4th floor to a room with immediate access to the courtyard and pool area. It was definitely worth it! Positive; distance from LAX, beach and Hollywood/ Beverly Hills, quick access to freeway, multiple shopping centres nearby, breakfast buffet and most staff was very friendly but a few of them are definitely not suitable in the hotel/tourist industry. Overall the hotel including the pool and hot tub area was very clean and the rooms were nice but nothing special. You can rent bicycles from the hotel for a reasonable price.Negative; A bit overpriced, payed parking area (15 dollars each night) very little information in the room about the hotel and it's services, and my children who stayed on the 4th floor were not impressed with room services on their check out day that came knocking at their door at 8 AM even when check out is at noon and they had the " do not disturbed" sign on the door.Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for your short or long stay. I most likely will be back in a few months when that "stop and smell the roses" feeling is popping up again! :)

I would like to stay once the hotel is up and fully functioning. Right now there is no room service as they are in the process of converting to a Doubletree from a Courtyard Marriott (I think). The hotel staff was more than accommodating and that I truly appreciate. This was a last minute reservation for one nights stay, so it was okay. As a long time Hilton Honors member, I stay at many Doubletree hotels for work and and this one is in its infancy stage right now. I look forward to your continued improvement.

Very good location. Close to LAX airport. Nice rooms, We will definitaly choose again this hotel. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Coffe and good cookies, free of charge. Free internet in the room. Big parking lot, Easy to reach.

The hotel is clean and modern and the housekeeping staff is excellent. Front desk staff are something else and some can be outright unpleasant like both clerks when I asked for a feather free room and was told that the hotel only had down comforters. After several nights suffering with allergic reaction to the comforter, which I kept taking off the bed and finding replaced in the morning despite requesting otherwise, I checked in with another front desk clerk (VR) who immediately changed my room and insured that I had a featherfree comforter.Get some well trained and caring front desk staff and my experience would have rated a 4.5 instead of a 3.0. It will also help when the mall reopens this summer is there is a boatload to do in the evenings and weekend.

I had a good experience at the new DoubleTree MDR, yet if I compare it with the experience I had 3 weeks before when it was still a Marriott Courtyard, I'd say that now everything has become a little too much procedural and rule bound. I had to wait everytime for someone to come and open the door of the Meeting room where I was training a class. It's been a waste of time and efficiency. Of no use try to explain them that 3 weeks before being the Trainer in charge I had a key to open the Meeting room whenever I needed. Warm cookies are cute ...But efficiency and flexibility are priceless!
