Good location and great service, but in need of an upgrade
Pros:- location within easy 5 minute walking distance to the main shopping and beach area in Waikiki- took advantage of a good online deal for Marriott rewards members- free wifi in the room (one inconvenience was we had to reconnect to the wifi on our iPhone every time it went on standby, but samsung galaxy phones didn't seem to have this problem)- staff was very friendly and helpful, and all of our requests were handled quicklyCons:- room was smaller than expected, in particular the shower, and in need of some upgrading (minor maintenance issues, cracked paint in walls) which was below the standard we've come to expect for a Courtyard property- very noisy! We asked for a quiet room on a high floor but were given a room on the second floor in the back building situated on the corner of an intersection. We were woken up by loud cars and the occasional garbage truck. The walls were thin and we could often hear our neighbors talking and their toilets flushing.

Great service/staff
Stayed at the hotel for a week and a half with family and the service at this hotel is great from valet to front dest. Have to admit that this is not your typical courtyard, as i was informed that it is franchised as one, but even though the rooms are small and the rates are high i will certainly stay here again. The staff here is very friendly, eager to please you. Valet staff are swift and professional. The bellboy Kaylen is always good to be around. He always seemed so happy saying hi to everybody always seems so happy to see you, helped us with directions and suggesting places to eat(fyi hula grill and sam's kitchen, good suggestions) thank you courtyard for an enjoyable visit.

Spectacular
Easy to make a hotel in Hawai look spectacular considering the natural location. However this hotel had brought this to an entire new level and the staff has exceeded in takeng well care of us. Aloha my friends

IN ROOM THEFT ALERT FROM OUR SAFE
IN ROOM THEFT ALERT FROM OUR SAFE - - - you and your things are not safe at this hotel!!!!!Stayed at Marriott Courtyard Waikiki from March 19th to March 22nd, 2013. Wife put her gold David Yurman bracelet and cash in the room safe. When we went to check out and retrieve her things, they were gone. We believe hotel staff saw her bracelet, and got into the room, and our safe while we were gone. Police report #----------. So far Hotel General Manager Ed Gunderson and HPD police have not returned my calls, or responced in any way. Beware, the people at this hotel are apparently checking you out and setting up to steal your valuables while you are gone, even if they are in the safe.

Excellent Staff
The staff was not only friendly, but super helpful with everything. The hotel is well maintained, and amenities are plenty. Good rates, and withing walking distance of the beach and SO MANY shops, boutiques, the plaza. A bit noisy when you walk outside, sort of like Las Vegas with all the activity at any time of the day, but the room itself is pretty soundproof. The lobby is very classy yet laid back, vacation style. Pool area is pretty and the bar is convenient. one complaint I would have if I felt inclined is that there is no in-house room service. If you want to order food, there is a directory to the local food places, and one place told us it would take 2 hours to deliver. no way! when you're hungry, you're hungry. But there is a snack/drink area behing the front desk that offers convenient food and some microwave items so it made up for it. I would stay here again.
