Great value!!
When to vegas to gamble for 4 days, my friends and I, we saw a deal with Allegiant so we took it, and then we just gamble and gamble! Good time!! Close to the other casinos... Well the only down was the gym, very small but still a good work out! I will be back to vegas for sure but probably in a different hotel...

Great location, Economical Rooms
The Monte Carlo is an old hotel. I wasn't expecting great luxury here. The room rates were very reasonable. The casino area is smaller than the MGM and Mandalay Bay, which I liked! It was easy to navigate to the elevators and restaurants. We enjoyed the Cafe for dinner. There was also a Buffet which was only ok, and a food court. We stayed here because we had tickets to the Blue Man Group, which is a great show by the way! Our AC was not getting cool, so we called and had the maintenance man come take a look. It could not be fixed, so They decided to move us from the 14th floor to the 15th floor. They also gave us a $50 food comp for the inconvenience. I enjoyed my stay here, we used Valet parking, service was great. Also enjoyed M&M and Coca Cola store across the street.

Beware of the 'hidden' fees
Ok - my bad - I didn't read the fine print on when I made the reservation. If you are like me and don't read the fine print, know that a $20/room/night 'resort fee' will be added to your bill on checkout. The checkout clerk told me all MGM hotels are now charging for things that most other hotels include for no cost. Such as WIFI access, local calls, daily newspapers and in room coffee makers (which didn't work one day we were there).Add to that the fact that MGM now runs 15 of the lower Strip hotels and have made it so difficult to get around the Strip without going up and down stairs and elevators that are often out of order! If you really want to see some of the other locations, do not book a MGM branded hotel. If all you want to do is gamble and drink (and let's face it, that may be all you're there for) then any MGM hotel is the same and just go for the cheapest. If you want more of a Vegas experience, then try one of the others.....like Caesars, Harrahs, Treasure Island, Ballys or ideally, stay at one of the originals in the old strip like the Fremont!

Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino Las Vegas
We have stayed at this Hotel quite a few times over the years. This year (May 2013) I thought the rooms were looking a bit run down and in need of renovation. The location is great easy access to Aria and Bellagio tram and just a short walk through the Casino to the strip. There is a food court available for cheap eats and we ate at The Cafe when we arrived around midnight. We had a breakfast which was two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for $10.99 each it was tasty and good value. Don't bother with the buffet it's not good.The room we got was on the 4th floor and had the worst view ever over the roof top and air conditioners. There was a stain on the carpet and the curtains were shabby. The bathroom was just okay. The room service was not good a couple of times housekeeping did not even show up. On reflection the Hotel was fully booked so this may account for the lack of housekeeping. Have to say a quick call to housekeeping and we were provided with what we needed within 5 minutes.For your $20 resort fee you get an in room coffee maker (Keurig) with two coffee pods, two bottles of water and wired internet, the speed is good.Overall the Hotel is great value and the Casino is good although small. Staff are friendly and helpful. We will probably stay again.
