Clean, nice rooms
Florence is a fantastic city, and at the same time a true nightmare if you dare to drive. So a good idea, if you get there by car, is to look for hotels that have a parking in their premises. The hotel Michelangelo fulfills this: there is an underground parking (but book it in advance because, despite what they may say on their web site, places are limited), rooms are clean and of decent size, and the center of Florence is not too far by foot. The structure from outside is really ugly, especially compared with lots of very nice palaces that host hotels in the center, but you just see it passing by. Breakfast is decent, gym is nice, above average hotel gym I would say, so -if you have a car- I would recommend it.

Lovely hotel close to the centre of Florence. Very clean with all modern conveniences. Staff very helpful free wifi. Close to tram and buses, lots of great restaurants close by. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent Value - Exceeded Expectations
We got an excellent rate (84 euros per night) for a long weekend we recently spent in Florence. The hotel really was fantastic. We took the train from Rome to Florence and after we figured out where to ride the tram (go out the station to the right as you leave the train platforms and down the stairs), all was good. It is the first stop on the tram from the train station, about 2 minutes ride. Purchase the ticket in front of the tram stop from the electronic kiosk, 1.20 euros and validate in the yellow box on the tram. The hotel was right behind the 1st tram stop and easy access. The lobby is large and very friendly and helpful staff. They gave us a great suggestion for a very popular pizzaria nearby as well as other transportation options around the city. The rooms were decent size and very modern. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms. We were with 3 other couples and everyone was quite suprised at how nice the hotel was for the value. The breakfast was pretty good. Plenty of options. One surprising element was that they have a free full-body massage chair neary the lobby where you can get your back, arms and feet massaged as you visit with friends. Also has a large sitting area near a fire place, free internet in the lobby areas. The only thing I would suggest is that they need to have a ramp down the stairs into their lobby to accomodate roller suitcases. Not exactly convenient. Other than that minor thing, this is a great hotel to select with great value. We mostly walked to the center of Florence from the hotel along the river.

Modern & Clean Hotel; Great Location!
Among the 3 hotels we stayed throughout this trip, this is my favorite. The hotel is very modern and clean. The location is great, conveniently located in the central area. Our room is on the top floor so I had somewhat great view from our bedroom window. Love it!

Average
Stayed for 3 nights last week. We thought the room was right above a loading bay as we heard loud noise from machines/lifts every morning. Hotel reception told us the noise might come from street level. Anyway, the rooms are not sound proof. We can hear clearly when the room next to us flushed the toilet. Hotel is 10-15 mins walking to the center. A taxi to train station cost Euro 8.Average hotel.
