Good value and good location downtown
We stayed here for three nights in May. The location is quite convenient - close to False Creek and Granville Island. Granville Street has a variety of buses passing by regularly. And the hotel has a free shuttle that will drop you anywhere downtown.Our room was on the small side, but with a nice layout - windows on two sides. The price also seemed pretty good too. Not the cheapest we've ever paid downtown Vancouver, but the best value.

Frustration!
Before I left the US, I called my credit card company AND the hotel to make sure my Visa would work. I was assured it was fine. We arrived after a 5 hour shuttle ride from Seattle to find that our room was not ready yet...AND that my Visa was not accepted. I called my bank and they spoke to the staff and assured them the card was good and the funds were there. The staff had me go across the street to a 7/11 and use the ATM. I withdrew $400 which is my daily limit. When I came back to pay for my room I was told I would need a $300 deposit for incidentals since I was using cash. I explained that I could only get the $400 which paid for my room plus $100 incidentals. They let me do that but our room was not ready for another hour. They DID upgrade us to the penthouse suite and they DID comp our breakfast and as we checked out they refunded the $100. But, it was SO frustrating. And in our room the whirlpool bath didnt work...no I didnt report it because by this time I was still frustrated. I will say that the neighborhood is a little scary...BUT the restaurant was extrememly good!!

Comfortable friendly place
Staff friendly, helpful, room pleasant and surprisingly quiet for the location. The only trouble was a noisy party on our floor, we had to call reception in the wee hours. Problem was solved promptly by security. Breakfast at White Spot very pleasant. Computer in lobby was not working, so we were not able to check e-mail.

Great place to be!
We had a really good experience in this hotel. We were greeted at the front desk by the very friendly Roberta. The room was good. Clean comfortable and a nice look and feel, convenient location. The attention to detail was excellent. Even a complimentary umbrella in the room in case of a rainy day. There were only 2 thins that i can be critical about (just a bit) the size of the room was very small, we had 2 large suitcases, and that did not leave us much room to move. And the traffic noise all night. We were in room 709. But not to bad for the price of the rom. I had not been in a Best western hotel for a long time, but this stay makes the hotel chain my first choice for a next hotel search. In fact we will come back for 2 nights at the end of this month and already look forward to it.

Park & Sail Package does NOT exist!!
I made 8 phone calls and 4 emails trying to book the Park & Sail package when we were going on an Alaskan cruise (as advertised on their website). This included talking to the hotel manager Luke and the customer service manager. They were all incapable of booking this package in their system and kept giving me a confirmation for one nights stay only; no parking included. After wasting hours communicating with more than 8 of their staff members, I finally called and cancelled the booking which was still incorrect (took 2 tries to get them to cancel!). Absolutely terrible and frustrating experience. I will never stay with Best Western; they can't even figure out how to make a reservation and no apologies for their incompetence.I booked a private residence through Wimdu for $150 less in the end. Saved money and frustration!
