The Place to Be
Stayed with some friends over the weekend. The staff were very great ESP Kingsley. Sent us a bottle of wine and a lovely room. It was busy during check out but they offered to email us the receipt. Such a great place. More of a home away from home. Will aways recommend this hotel.

Another good stay
This was a last minute booking. We arrived at the hotel and Kingsley was there to welcome us once again and give us a nice room. He was recently promoted as the Front Desk supervisor. The beacon is nice hotel with down to earth staff. They are very helpful. The rooms are all nice especially the suite.

Beacon Hotel
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Mohammed in particular was very helpful, helping me locate a leather coat I misplaced in the lobby. The location was particularly good to Washington Mall. It was within walking distance for me, but it is also close to the Metro for those who want to use the rail.

Perfect Location - Not A Perfect Hotel - But Worth It
Hello everyone ¿¿¿recently stayed at the Hotel with my two nieces. I was a bit weary of the room being too unaccommodating for the uncle and two nieces and especially having some room in the room. The room we had was good for the three of us. There were two beds and a sofa bed. I gave the nieces the beds and uncle got to sleep on the sofa bed that wasn¿¿¿t all that bad. The room had a small kitchenette that included a refrigerator, stove and microwave. It was nice to have a full size refrigerator to store water, fruits and juices. The only issue I had and as commented in several parts of this review are the lack of glasses, plates and utensils. There was only two of each ¿¿¿ sometimes. Yes, when housekeeping cleaned a glass ¿¿¿ they never replaced it. It was quite obvious that there were three people in the room. The coffee maker was very much welcomed and I agree with others ¿¿¿ paper cups? At that there were only two paper cups. Sometimes we¿¿¿d make hot chocolate in the evening and that was the end of our supply for the morning coffee. To the management ¿¿¿ you really need to change this. The room was very quiet and we found no fault. The bathroom was just a bathroom and had some reasonable storage space. Sharing the bathroom with 2 girls was not a chore as I thought it would be. We seemed to manage okay. The only problem was the sliding bathroom door. It would get stuck and someone would need help getting the door open (management are you listening?).The location was one of the best ! We walked to the White House from the hotel. There is both a drug store and a Whole Foods Market near-by. A couple of blocks away are some restaurants, bars/clubs and shops. So, there were plenty of choices to eat. I felt safe in the area including at night and with the nieces. So, the room was not fabulous, it was not chic, it was not luxurious ¿¿¿ it was okay. No complaints. It was very clean and roomy. We were out till 8 or 9 every night. We came back to the hotel and got a good rest. We did not spend a lot of time in the room. But, even if we did, it would still be okay. Yes, I would stay here again because of the location and because of the roominess of the hotel room. But, especially because the staff was incredible helpful. Personal thanks to Teresita, who made our stay enjoyable. We arrived early (8:30 am) because of our red-eye flight from Los Angeles to DC. She worked her magic so we got into a room and were able to take a nap. She didn¿¿¿t have to do this, but she is such a professional that she accommodated. Thank you !One small note to all you wine drinkers out there ¿¿¿ bring your own wine opener ¿¿¿ none in the room and none in the hotel.

A good experience
The staff were all most friendly and helpful. In particular, Muhamad made me feel very comfortable about my vehicle and storing my luggage during my meetings. The food in the restaurant was surprisingly excellent. All of this made my trip far more enjoyable.
