Highly recommend!
This was our second visit to New York but the first time staying at the Paramount. Fantastic location, just a minutes walk from all the action in Times Square and it's a great base to do all the touristy things! Our room and bathroom was a bit on the small side but it was plenty big enough for us as we were only in it to sleep. It was very clean, modern and comfortable and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel, whether it's your first visit to the city, second, third or fourth!

Great midtown stay
I've been to the Paramount twice on business trips, both midweek. Off-season, it's reasonably affordable (a little over $200/night) and the Times Square location is awesome. The rooms are very small, but its midtown Manhattan, so I didn't spent much time in the room. With half-decent wi-fi, comfortable beds, and express checkout, it gets the job done. One downside of the location is the noise level; a fair compromise for a comfortable stay right in the center of everything.

Fabulous!
Just back from an amazing 5 days in NYC. The hotel is lovely, fantastic location, easy access to everywhere. We originally had a standard room, very nice but bed smaller than a UK double. Fortunately, the lovely Cathy on reception, sorted us out with an upgrade to a deluxe double, which was fabulous. We were on the 17th floor which was great, especially for getting in the lift at busy times. Immaculately cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Staff all very helpful, with good recommendations for places to eat, and nothing was too much trouble.Good transport links, with 42nd subway or Times Square station within 5-10 minute walk away.The best cheesecake in Manhattan was 30m away at Juniors! Great value for money and great location. Would definitely recommend. Be prepared for some street noise though, as it's right in the heart of the action!Celia & Matt

Excellent location, small rooms, dark but overall good value
The location of this hotel is EXCELLENT! Walk out of the door and a half a block to your left and you're in Times Square. Right in the heart of the Theater district, we were actually across the street from the theater we needed to go to (which we didn't plan!) I got this hotel through a Groupon deal and figured I'd give it a shot since the price was excellent. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The rooms are very small, but that's pretty typical for NYC boutique hotels, but the accommodations were adequate, certainly for not being in the room much. Come on, we don't go to NYC to sit in our rooms all day! Very few outlets, very little storage, etc. but we just put our suitcases on the floor and never really unpacked (but we weren't there very long). My two complaints about this place are that it's very dark and the walls are very thin. The lobby is dark (but has comfortable couches) and the hallways are dark, making it slightly hard to find your room. Seems like they could turn the lights up slightly, but I guess it's part of the ambiance - I could've been happy with more light. Luckily our room was very close to the elevator so we didn't have to be wandering around in the dark looking for it. The room itself did have a lot of light though, so once we got inside it was okay. Also, the walls are paper thin - we could hear people having conversations at what seemed like reasonable volumes when they were in the hallway and next door. Thankfully it's pretty small, so there were not tons of people walking the halls all the time. When we were there in February 2013 they were finishing up construction (which is why I think it was a on Groupon) and the remodeling looks great! There is a little cafe right inside the door that offers pastries, coffees and bottled drinks which was convenient. There's a restaurant there too, but we did not eat in it since we weren't there very long, but it looked good. For the value considering the location, I would definitely consider staying here again!

In the heart of Time Square
The Paramount Hotel is located just off Times Square and is in a great location for those who are going to NYC for a shopping, sightseeing or a theater trip. It is also a fairly short walk from Penn and Grand Central stations so easy to get to in a city where you do not want to have a car. The lobby of the Paramount is beautiful in a chic dark kind of way and has many areas to sit and plan your day. As with most New York City hotels the rooms can be a bit on the small side and ours was no different. We had a tiny room on the 5th floor with a miniature bathroom but everything was functional. Also typical of lower floor rooms in the city, we had a view of the brick wall directly across from us but if you craned your neck you could see the sky peeking out over the roof of the adjacent building. The Paramount is a good choice for an affordable room in the middle of NYC just don¿¿¿t be surprised by the size of the rooms if you are new to the NYC hotel scene.
