Good value for money
I stayed at this hotel on a week end. I was on my own. At first I was somewhat taken back by the numerous Friday night party-goers that were going to all the clubs/bars down the street. I asked for a quiet room and the friendly staff got me one. Admittedly the view from my window was of the rooms on the other side but i was not fussed. I slept really well. The room was pretty small but again I was not in Van to stay in my hotel room. So overall I found the place good value for money and the staff very friendly.

Should have stayed at the Best Western.
My wife and I stayed here while visiting family. We were initially reserved at the Best Western right next door but they didn't have parking to accommodate my truck. The check in process was fine but trying to get the card reader to work on the elevator was hard! The hallways and our room had a definite funky smell to them. The room was VERY small. The shower was good for a 5ft person but not for my height. The sink had no room to put anything down and the toilet awkwardly placed next to the wall. Location was good, not a far walk from anything. The restaurant next to the hotel was terrible. We tried 6 different entrees/appetizers and we were very disappointed. Sadly, the Howard Johnson just missed the mark for us. We will not be returning.

Excellent hotel with very friendly staff
I spent five days in HoJo, Vancouver. Hotel is on great location, within walking distance to Canada place, English Bay, Davie Street.Rooms are clean but most of all staff is super nice. Definitely would come back.

Good price and good location
I stayed for 3 nights and was happy with the services provided by the hotel. The room was comfortable and as I had a room at the back, quiet. The location is good for all of downtown and you are close to good eating places. The fact the hotel has free wifi and a self service laundry is a bonus.

Always nice to come back
I use this hotel when I come to Vancouver for my doctors appoitments. I have been using this hotel for a year now, staff is always welcoming, helpful and willing to bend backwards to help me with anything I need. My husband is not always able to come with me, so I kind of got used to the nice staff always checking on me and driving me or picking me up from hospital on few occasions, when I was unable to walk back. Rooms are super clean and modern, wi-fi works, there is a parking lot with limited spaces, but I have always been able to park my car there no problem. Houskeeping is there to assist with any needs, I will definetely will miss this little gem once my health improves enought that I don't have to go see a specialist anymore. Hotel staff became like a little family to me and I enjoy tremendously catching up with all of them on my trips.
