Have just returned from 5 nights at the Lawnswood. The hotel is well situated for the buses, seafront and town. Lovely room with large comfy bed and super shower. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The delicious breakfasts are freshly cooked while you wait and set you up for the day, and better than we've had in some hotels we've stayed in. David is so helpful advising places to visit. Thank you Angela and David for a lovely stay - you come highly recommended.

we stayed at the Lawnswood last weekend. we have stayed here on several occasions now, but are so impressed that feel that we need to tell everyone.to give you all the chance to enjoy your hoilday in one of Torquay's simply the best guest houses.the house is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness.our room came with fresh clean towels with a lovely token of chocolate. There is a tea tray with tea, coffee, bottled water and pack of biscuits which are refilled daily. the shower room even came with hand wash, shower wash, cotton wool buds and cotton wool pads.we had a Tv with built in DVD player and hairdryer.on the landing were a large collection of DVD's and assorted Books, to use as you require. there was also a ironing board and iron. all this allowed us not to have to pack the extras that we usually have to.in the hall way was a great selection of leaflets and ideas of places to visit, but David & Angela was also a mind of information even coming up with suggestions of different places.what can i say about the food - one word "excellant " a selection of cearls, fruit, juices, fresh coffee, tea, followed by full english breakfast or any combination or even smoked salmon and scrambled egg. then as much Toast, jams, honey or marmaldes as you want. no need for lunch this will set you up for the day.and if this was not enough David & Angela care so much for there guests they even care about were the your car will be parked. there are 3 parking spaces behind the guest house and on the road street parking at the front in busy times David is prepared to move his car to allow you to park yours or even ask his neigbour and you can park in there spaces.we enjoy stopping here so much, that would not consider stopping any where else. thank you David & Angela for making are stays so lovely. will see you again later in the year.

Stayed here on the weekend starting 18th April 2013. On arrival we were welcomed by David who showed us to our room and carried our bag. The room was decorated to a modern standard, we had a lovely comfortable double bed and adequate en suite with a good tv. Each morning breakfast was served from 0830 hours, we had lots of choice and Angela was very attentive to our needs and David cooked the meals quickly and to a high standard. Each morning David and Angela would suggest places to visit and made us feel totally at home and comfortable. The hotel is ideally located and deserves high ratings. It is reasonably priced and we would definitely be going back!

We booked to stay here for five nights at Easter. Throughout our stay David suggested many places to visit, He is a fountain of knowledge on places to visit and acts as a living guide book! The full English breakfasts were some of the best I've ever had. I had a full english breakfast 6 out of 6 mornings and they set me up for the day, not needing a lunch, just a snack. If you wish not to have a full english there are plenty of delicious alternatives. The service was excellent too. We looked at other guest houses in the area but we were so pleased that we chose this one. Fantastic location 10 mins walk from the sea front. The room was very clean and comfortable and had a good clean shower unit and bathroom. There were complementary sweets on arrival which I though was a nice touch. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms together with a selection of biscuits. They had a decent TV with free-view, inbuilt DVD player and also free Wi-fi. There is also a bus stop outside the guest house for those that don't drive. There are 3 parking spaces at the back of the guest house and on road parking at the front (although there are not often spaces on the road). David and Angela were lovely people and I would recomend anyone to stay in this guest house. We will definitely be returning to the guest house and also recommending it to family and friends.

Very clean nice big room very friendly hosts. Nice fresh breakfast nothing too much trouble. My only moan would be parking they only have three spaces and if three were parked it is almost impossible to get out of your car. It says plenty of road parking that is not the case it was impossible to park at the side of the road. Otherwise a nice place to stay if you just want a clean bed and a nice breakfast.
