Disappointing
We stayed here recently on our first night in Ireland. This was one of four hotels we stayed at during our time in Ireland. I was very excited prior to our trip about this hotel, but was disappointed on arrival. The staff members were bordering on rude. At first I thought this may be because we were obviously tourists - but as I saw more of the country I realized that this couldn't be further from the truth about Irish people. The people at Dunboyne were quite literally the ONLY rude people we met on our entire trip. They seemed as if we were bothering them if we asked them any questions - I was relieved we did not stay longer than one night.

Great stay
Dunboyne was the last stop at the tail-end of our Ireland trip. We were checked in promptly and given a very clean and comfortable room. There was WiFi right in the room, which is a big deal to me. The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean and the bathroom was large. The lobby was very modern and pretty. Although we didn't have time to visit the bar or spa - both seemed very nice. We had a great stay!

Family get together
We had our Grandson's Christening in this hotel on Sunday 5th May and stayed overnight. The food was really good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We went to the residence bar for the evening, where we were entertained by a great band calling themselves The Rat Trap. So as you can imagin it was very easy listening and we even had a dance. Our room was lovely and big with a big bathroom that had a separate bath and shower cubicle. Every room has bathrobes, where in a lot of hotels you only get them with an upgrade. The bed was king size and very comfortable. There was a great choice for breakfast, food was hot and fresh, and a very relaxed air about the place. Its a beautiful hotel, didn't get a chance to use the Spa, Maybe next time

Lovely venue for a wedding
I recently attended a wedding at Dunboyne Castle. The venue, staff and food were all excellent. I would recommend it as a venue for a wedding. The day was lovely - however it did make the room very hot and a little uncomfortable. They could invest in a few more air conditioning units. There were no windows open at any point.

Nice, but...
Stayed one night here prior to a flight out of Dublin. Very disappointing following stays in other 4-5 star hotels. Hotel common area was very crowded and the serving staff was taxed to the limit. They were very slow to respond with orders (drinks and food). Room was nice but not exceptional. Hotel staff ran hot and cold. Some were extremely helpful but others were rude. One staff member delivered a lecture to us on what was available in the room at 5 in the morning even though he did not know it was not there. A trend was noted that the locals were more friendly and helpful than those from eastern Europe. The hotel was also EXTREMELY noisy. At three in the morning there were people running and talking extremely loud in the halls. Needs some improvement on service.
