We stayed at Highland lodge for 4 nights at Easter holiday and had a very nice stay. We got a nice big family room at 3rd floor, and the kids loved the big extra bed they were sleeping in. The reception area is very nice, and the sun terrace. We were also very pleased with the breakfast and the food we ordered in the reception area. A couple of more choices for the kids would be great. Our feedback to the hotel is to have the swimming pool area warmer incl. the showers. It was freezing cold to get from the pool to the shower. The hotel has a very relaxing nice atmosphere. And the rooms need an upgrade to have the same style as the rest of the hotel.We are coming back:)

We stayed as part of a Christmas package holiday, and enjoyed the hotel, but were a bit underwhelmedOur room was all right, and large as our daughter had to sleep on the sofa bed, but the bathroom was a shower room, and the supplied towels were tiny. The single lift we found was small and slow. The laid out items from the overpriced mini bar proved too much temptation for the little one, but we were able to find replacements for them in the supermarketFood wise, the Christmas buffets were excellent, but the normal, no choice evening meal was a bit questionable at times and portions small. Breakfast was good, and our daughter appreciated the child menu.The swimming pool area was freezing, and towels again tiny - we ended up buying a couple of bath sheets from the shop across the road as we are fairly large people

We stayed in two rooms for 1 night:1. We asked for 1 family room and 1 double room, and they gave us the same room twice,and charged extra( the hotel was almost empty).2.at 22:00 the recepionist remembered that he doesn't have our credit card and phoned us.. Some of us were asleep after a long days drive.3. The hotel has a new spa area( with a gym, a pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna). The pool is bearly heated, the sauna is out of order and some of the devices in gym arn't working.

Keep away from the roomnumber with the numer 100.. They are at the lowest levet, without a lift but under the Conferancse rooms, terrible noisy.The food was poor, and have the same taste, if it was fish, meat or chocolate mousse. No taste! For a good price it`s ok to sleep there but find other places to eat.

We stayed at Highland hotel to celebrate new year's eve. The rooms are OK, but quite small and a bit cold. We had to turn up the heat when we got there. We liked that the bathroom had a shower and a bath tub, and it was also nice that the room had a balcony.We were happy to hear that a 5 course meal was included in the price. The food was good, (not amazing), but it took quite a while to get all five courses. Breakfast was OK, although we missed some organic options and a broader selection of teas, fruits and juices, and more kinds of bread. (Very standard Norwegian selection - not innovative in any manner). Lunch was good, but expensive. The spa area is nice, but there was no where to get a towel. (If you don't bring a towel from your room, you could risk having to take the elevator back up to your room wearing swim suit and winter boots only. Get towel before entering shower.) The hotel is good for families with children. There are nice playing areas and the restaurant sells food in kid size portions. On the other hand, this might not be such a good thing for everyone. We had to interrupt our game of pool, as some kids had stuffed playground balls into the pool table and consequently destroyed it for the time being. The staff is nice and friendly. This is a good hotel, but our overall impression is that you pay for more than you get.
