A group of five of us stayed in an apartment here. There was a kitchen, decent rooms, a sofa bed and a nice balcony.The location was good, just by the beach and central for your needs.One issue was that, after putting a hot saucepan on a mat, the glass on the table broke, and they tried to charge us 60 euros. First of all, it should have been treated, and secondly, the room next door was being refurbished, ours was next and everything was going to go anyway. After writing to the management, they were very apologetic and refunded the money, which was good.The pool is nice, as are the little jacuzzis. The staff were friendly and helpful.I would recommend the hotel.

The hotel is within walking distance of benalmedina harbour which we did most days, the restaurant and entertainment on site was very good, good choice of food, sandy beach is 5 minutes walk so good for kids, accommodation is good, clean and spacious, housekeeping service is excellent. The indoor and outdoor pools and gardens are kept beautifully clean and well maintained. One disappointing thing is WiFi is available in the accommodation but is expensive, ¿¿7.95 for 24 hours, expensive to keep in touch with home if you need to.There is a beautiful park very close by which on a sunny day is lovely to walk around, you attract many wild birds/animals with a loaf of bread and some fresh fruit. It is so easy to get to the resort from Malaga airport, the train is very easy to use and is very cheap, the locals are very used to holiday makers using their train line. Malaga train station on this same line allows you to travel easily to other parts of the costa del sol.

Myself and my husband are Diamond Resort silver members and we arrived with some friends for 9 day break, end of March. We had a 2 bedroom apartment in Royal Gardens N2 and it was lovely. The only down side was that it had only one bathroom. It had been explained that this was due to the age of the property and when they were built there was only space for one, and although we were there with friends, it would have been better to have the 2 bathrooms. We managed just the same. The facilities were also very good. The complex in itself was quite central to all amenities.The entertainment was also good and better than some of the other Diamond resort complexes we had been to. I have to say that the staff were exceptional, from the domestic staff right through to Salvatore the Manager, they could not do enough for you. Special thanks to reception staff, where nothing was too much bother, thank you all. Carole at Concierge, thanks for your help Carole. Chefs, the food was excellent. Thank you to the lovely domestic staff who kept our rooms lovely and clean. Extra special thanks to the bar staff especially Ivan and new staff member Amador, you guys are amazing, well done and thanks for making our holiday that little bit better. A big special thanks goes to Salvatore the Manager. Salvatore, thank you very much for making our holiday that bit more special. We truly appreciate it.We have only been members for a couple of years and up til now, have not always had the best experience with Diamond, but Salavatore you and your team, gave us an exceptional holiday. The thing for myself and my husband is that as Diamond Resort members, we expect to have nice accomodation, staff who look after you and will go that go that extra mile to make your holiday experience better, and Salvatore your compex and staff have done that for us. Thank you and you staff for being so friendly and helpful and we will definitely be visiting Sahara Sunset again. Well Done.Caroline and John Clements

We had a week at the beginning of April, as three generations from the same family. On arrival we were given an apartment with lots of steps on the other side of the road. With a Granny in her late 70s who had recently had a hip operation and two children, this was not suitable. The Reception staff were delightful, when we explained the accomodation would not suit our needs. We were able to view two alternative apartments and chose Royal Palms.The apartment was certainly large enough for us all and was exceptionally clean. The balcony overlooked the pool and had sun all afternoon and early evening.The only downside is that you have to effectively leave the complex to get to your appartment - alot of entrances are along the road.We ate lunch at the Casbah terrace most days and enjoyed two lovely meals in the restaurant in the evenings.We loved the Spa and my husband enjoyed the Gym - both of which are free. But do book ahead for the Spa, as it is popular.The staff everywhere - reception, lifeguards, Casbah, entertainments team - were ALL exceptional. They could not do enough to help you.We had a lovely week, didn't get involved with the Diamond "selling" and would recommend it!

Have been back nearly a week now. Staff at reception very helpful throughout our stay, especially as both my daughter and husband checked in five days after me. The kids absolutely enjoyed joining in the kids activities when we found time for them to go. Would recommend the day excursion to Malaga with Dani. Train fare only 3 euros. Once there he gives you a guided tour stopping for chocolate & churros - these are the best I have ever tasted. A must for hot chocolate lovers! Later we went for a traditional spanish meal which is also good value for money. Anyway back to Sahara Sunset - our 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious and had a washing machine in the kitchen, which I found very handy.We stayed in apartment K2 in Royal Gardens. We had a sea view as well as a view of the mountains. The only downside was the distance/maze you had to travel each time you left the apartment. We ate several times at the onsite restaurant. The food was not often as described in the menu, not sure whether there was a couple of different chefs. Staff though were friendly. Unfortunately a couple of times we went we were sharing our table with ants.Great location for families with the beach across the main road and Paloma Park a short walking distance from the resort. Our kids loved going there to see all the wildlife as well as playing in the park.
