2 STARS (nothing more, nothing less...)
It's a good "2-star" hotel pretty close to the center of Prague. I know: they say "4-stars", but the one that's right is me!It's 10-15 min walking from Wenceslas Square and very close to the Metro green line- "A", the right one for Malastrana, the castle, the city center and the bus connection to the airport. Prices are really competitive; breakfast is good and included.And these were the good news.The bad ones are the following, included in my recommendations:1) If you are traveling by car, well, YOUR CAR COMES FIRST! The Taurus hotel has a very limited parking capacity. First reserve your parking site (YOU MUST DO ) and only after that book your room. A family that checked-in before me had serious problems and finally they left their car on the road. Not recommended.2) AVOID THE FIFTH FLOOR. Did I say "2-stars" before? Well, I would cut another one for the fifth floor. This floor was ¿¿¿fast & furious(ly)¿¿¿ adapted to host guests given probably the increasing demand. The result is really poor, but this should not prevent the staff from regularly cleaning the rooms. Avoid in particular room 510 and 501 (it¿¿¿s not dyslexia¿¿¿)3) CALL TO RESERVE, or in case you do it by internet, CALL TO CONFIRM. In one word: CALL!!! I did my reservation on line by Expedia and a clear message stated ¿¿¿No need to call us for confirmation. Your room is already confirmed¿¿¿. It was true: a room was booked and confirmed¿¿¿. indicatively. I booked one room with matrimonial bed and I had 2 separated beds; difficult to change once on site due to the high number of guests.

Value for money
I stayed 1 night, 2 people, for 34 euros incl breakfast! It's a bit of a trek to the city centre, but once you master the trams 8which I chose rther than metro) it's OK. Number 11 takes you to Pavlova, where you can easily change for your preferred direction. At Pavlova by the way, is a tesco Express open until midnight so you can buy cheap late night food!! The reception staff speak great English, German, Russian, are friendly and helpful. I bought a 24hr public transport ticket at the reception which made travel the easiest. Hotel car park costed me 12 euros for the 24 hour stay. Breakfast is plentiful and protein rich! My room (208) was big and madly decorated, minibar, international TV, kettle with tea and coffee and comfortable beds. free wifi. The area is not the most picturesque nor indeed the safest at 11.30pm, but keep quiet (dont advertise you are a tourist) and walk deliberately and all will be well. Prague is full of graffiti and litter everywhere and this area is no different. But if you plan to spend time out and about and want a cheap place to stay, then this is just fine. If you want to sit in the lobby with chianti looking at the river, then go elsewhere.

You get what you paid for ...
Don't know what to say, but honestly i can say this hotel is everything but not 4 stars :) but its true that you get what you paid for. In a price for about 35 eur in room for 2-4 / night, 2 stations (Jiriho z Podebrad) far by metro A from very centre of Prague (Muzeum Station), and awesome breakfast in the morning i can't say bad word about this hotel ... if you are budget traveller this hotel is def one of the best place to stay in prg ... rooms was relatively clean, small old fridge as a mini bar and so on ... :) ... one funny fact about our room (204) was that when we came back in night - in room was light like during the day because ,,hotel light sign,, was next to our window and it was really ,,shiny,, :)

Good basic hotel
I was fully prepared to be disapointed by this hotel after reading other reviews but i was plesantly surprised.Think of it more as a 3 star hotel, ok the furntiture is oversized for the rooms and a bit past its best, the bathroom smelt a bit damp and the staff weren't exactly friendly or forthcoming but that being said it did what it needed to.The breakfast was all you could expect from a buffet and more than enough choice, hot eggs, sausage and bacon (depending on day) a selection of cake breads, meat and cheese, fresh fruit, yougats, different breads, cereals, juice, coffee and a selection of teas (i'm sure i've forgotten something). It all tasted good and gave us a good start.This hotel is no means in the middle of everything but if you turn right theres a metro station and most things are a couple of stops. The metro is so easy to navigate and really cheap.The lift worked, the rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels so all in all we couldn't complain. Don't expect 4 star and you won't be disappointed.

Value for money!
We stayed in Hotel Taurus for 2 nights during our trip to Spindleruv Mlyn (ski holidays). We took the family room (one double bed, 2 single beds for kids). At first sight the hotel looked "old", but that turned into "charming" when considering the furniture and good accommodation, friendly staff, free Wifi access, .... The parking area at the back of the hotel is accessible via a very very narrow corridor (be careful!) and one needs to be a good driver to get out again. The location of the hotel is excellent: quite close to highway exits but at the same time very close (100m) to Metro station (3 stops to centre of old Prague 1 only). Main reason to book this hotel: location and price!!!!! Can't be beaten.... Definitely coming back!
