Cheaper alternative for backpackers to Rome
I stayed at Excel Roma Montemario with my parents for 3 days, last October. The hotel is a restoration of an old building I think, because when we were there, they were still doing some renovation. Overall, the hotel is alright if you are travelling on budget to Rome, but if you want easy access to Rome main attraction, this hotel might not be your first choice.Here are some of my opinion regarding Excel Roma Montemario:1. Location wise, it is a bit far from the city. We arrived in Rome by train and we took a taxi as we were not sure about the location of the hotel. We were a bit shock that the location is a bit further than we expected. We spent about 25 Euro for taxi from the Termini train station to the hotel. However, the good thing about it was the area where it located is very quiet and the air is fresh!2. The staff are very friendly. The gentleman at the front desk welcome us with fresh welcome drinks and quickly sort out the check in process. We were given a map which showed how to get to the main attraction in Rome. 3. The room is old, but clean. I had no trouble sleeping. But the bathroom is very small and old fashion. But overall it was alright.4. Breakfast was good with a lot of variation and they changed the menu everyday.5. Wi-fi was stable and fast.I would only recommend this to the backpackers with limited budget. But if you prefer to be closer to the city, you can book many other hotels that nearer to Rome.

Nice hotel
Hello, me and my boyfriend stayed there for 4 nights, at the end of April 2013. The hotel is nice, the rooms are spacious. The hotel has 4 floors and 2 elevators. The staff was very helpfull and nice, they told us ways to go in to the center of the city and gave us a map of the city. The furniture in the room was nice ,not old. Our room did't have balcony. The hotel is part of a bigger resort, with some other buildings for accomodation, they have some field for tennis and not only, also we saw only the pool in a butterfly shape :). Some reviews we read spoke about the thin walls of the hotel, I have to agreed with them, we could hear the phone's alarm from our neightbours in the morning and also , in the morning, all the people making the check out , dragging their luggages on the hallway. The rooms were cleaned every morning, even if in one morning we left the "DND" sign , oh well....About the breakfast - for me it was ok, lots of cakes , under different shapes, some croissantes in some mornings, no fresh fruits, only one type of cheese and some salami, no vegetables, or eggs . The internet - is free in the rooms also, but not necessarily working, in our room only facebook page worked, nothing else. Also the computer near reception had no internet connection , but it had a printer , if you need one .The resort is quiet and far from the city center, but this we knew from the beggining, but it was pretty hard to find it , as it has some trees in front at the street and we barely managed to find someone to understand us in english and tell us where we could find the entrance of the resort. Busses 907 and 913 take you to the subway station Cipro, and from there is pretty easy to get to Piazza di Spagna and there is the center and is better to walk to the places you want to get. Anyway, Rome is just great so it deserves the little sacrifice :)

Honeymoon
The room was clean and modern. The shower leaked however and the hotel did not replenish shaving lotions or soaps throughout our 4 day stay. The WiFi was intermittent and in the bedroom did not work.The hotel although near a regular bus service is a good 30 minutes from the city centre. Be prepared that the bus service is erratic.The breakfast is okay but get down relatively early as the bowls run out quickly and it can be frustrating to wait around in the morning.

Lovely hotel
I stayed here with my boyfriend at the end of March. It was a really nice place. Not in the center of rome but a quiet suburb on a bus route into the city. We changed rooms on the fist night as some floors have been refurbished and others havent. Our first room was not great. Dont stay on floor four! But after that it was lovely. I would imagin in the sunmer it is packed. But it was really nice when we were there. Gym is excellent and there is a sauna. Shame the pool was closed.

Good hotel and great value
This hotel is clean and modern with comfortable rooms, friendly staff and lovely food. It is on a main bus route that will take you to all the main attractions, for instance it is about a 15min bus ride to the Vatican. It is down a very small dark road however i feel that this is a benefit as the hotel is set back from the main road and its noise. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to family and friends.
