Close to Schonhouser Allee S Bahn station and Prenzlauer Berg night life. Friendly receptionist let us check into our room early when we arrived at midday. Great service at hotel bar (open 24 hours). Comfortable rooms in quiet courtyard away from the main road. All in all great value at ¿¿¿42 for a twin room.

quite nice
We enjoyed "103". Not excellent, but nice enough. Nice wide room, clean, quiet, birds singing outside. TV was poor, the furniture really awful, but beds good anyway. Breakfast good, but not super every morning - to pay for that every morning not so nice. The surroundings: somehow we liked Prenzlauer Berg. It was our town. Every evening as we came from the city to our hotel, we felt like "coming home". Normal life, nice/cheap bars and shops. U-Bahn works very well.

Basic but with character
I booked the 103 for a long weekend in Berlin with my 17 year old son. The hotel is pretty basic. This is the no frills option. But you get a good sized room and a small ensuite shower room and lavatory. The room was clean but perhaps showing its age a little. We had three single beds and some storage but the set up is very much basic backpacker style. Rooms overlook a quite courtyard and have nice big windows. The staff were friendly and helpful and there is a good all night bar. Location wise the hotel is a bit out of the centre of things but there is quite a lot going on in the area. Its suburban but lots of mid priced resturants and bars nearby. There is also quite a good shopping centre opposite the station. The rail links are excellent. There is both an underground and overground station nearby and one can get to most of the main sights in Berlin with 20 minutes. We got a direct overground train to and from Schoenfeld airport. Basic breakfast is 3 euros. There is also a small games room and free wifi in reception. This is a two star hotel so you get what you pay for but I'd say its much better than most chain budget hotels.

clean clean clean
we had a three bed room and i cant fault it, both the bedroom and the bathroom were spotless! The room was also a good size. the dining area and communal areas are very modern (very ikea looking) and clean. The breakfast is fine, plenty of bread ham, tomatoes, cheese etc. as others have said it is near the train and is near enough to a few nice restaurants and cafes. we did almost miss the hotel though as it is accessed through a courtyard. overall i would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin.

Disappointing
We stayed at Hotel 103 for three nights and we paid around 80 euros per night. Great location in a very nice neighbourhood, close to the station Sch¿¿nhauser Allee. Our room was though a big dissapointment. The beds were ok but the rest of the furniture was awful. Instead of bedside tables there were two dirty stools. Our bathroom was horrible. It was almost as big as the bedroom itself, probably meant to serve disabled guests. There was no shower curtains so showering without soaking the whole bathroom was impossible. The bathroom floor was extremely unhygienic, with ingrained dirt. The towels were not changed during our stay and due to the humidity the towels were never dry.When we asked the staff about how the lockers in the rooms worked we learned that it costed 50 cents extra per night to use them. That's not much, but we couldn't understand why this fee wasn't included in the total bill. There was free wifi but only in the lobby. If you wanted to use the wifi in your room it costed extra too. All in all, for 80 euros a night we expected to get more value for our money. I wouldn't recommend you this hotel.
