A little bit overpriced for what it is
It took us a while to find the hotel as it is not signposted and you then realise that you need to go to some other hotel at the bottom of the hill to check in. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are extremely dated, everything looks a little old and tatty. I was disappointed to find out that there was no WiFi, they claim to have an advanced system to get free internet access, but you need to plug something into your computer, so if you're thinking of using your mobile or tablet, you might as well forget about it! As the name says, the rooms are on top of a hill and you get a beautiful view of LA, but it's not particularly walker-friendly, as the hill is very steep and if you choose to walk up the hill at night, there's a good chance you may get run over by a car as there are no streetlights. There is a free shuttle that takes you to the top of the hill, but it is a little bit inconvenient having to give them a ring every time you want to go up or down. Other than that, it is in a great location as it is only a five-minute walk to Hollywood Boulevard. When I booked the hotel it was advertised as free parking, but on leaving they tried to charge us for parking, I mentioned to them at reception that it had been advertised as free parking and they were nice enough to give us a refund for the parking fees.

We Loved it and will definitly go back!
This hotel was fantastic!! We stayed 2 nights..and loved it! The price is great for the amazing location..only a few minute walk to hollywood blvd. The staff is so nice and friendly! No it is not luxury but it was great for us! The view from our balcony was fabulous!!! We could see the Hollywood hills and the city..so pretty! The bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean! The 2 pools were nice and clean. Big clean bathroom! They serve a nice continental breakfast!! Oh and the free snacks and drinks were the kids favorite!! We will definitly be going back!! We were very pleased!

Great stay
My husband and I stayed at the hotel last year and found the location to be central. We were given a room in the outter area of the hotel which was nice a quite. They have a shuttle to and from the hotel and outter rooms but we walked most of the time. The room was large and comfortable but out dated, it had a nice view of the city and hills. We loved the free snacks and was given a bottle of champaign upon arrive as it was our honeymoon. We later told them that we don't drink alcohol so they swaped it for a bottle of sparkling orange juice. The staff was very nice. The only minor complain was getting the WiFi to work. If we wanted to use the internet we would have to go into the main hotel.

Best Hotel Crew of all time!
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at the Hollywood Hills Hotel. This is the sister property of The Magic Castle Hotel and this place is Magical! Both hotels share the same hotel staff and all of the staff will bend over backwards to make your stay at either of these properties as grand as possible. They treat each guest that checks in like a VIP. The Magic Castle Hotel is a boutique style hotel adjacent to the famed private magic club "The Magic Castle". This property looks charming, but we have not yet had a chance to stay here. We fell in love with the the other property set in the Hollywood Hills above and keep returning! Each unit at the Hollywood Hills Hotel is a converted apartment studio and they each have their own charm. The views up on the hill are spectacular--both of the city and the hillside. There is a great Japanese resturaunt up at the hotel and an Asian inspired swimming pool. There are free snacks available at anytime in the lobby (our 12 year old loves this!) and a nice continental breakfast down in the lobby each morning. Oh, and if you stay at either of the properties they can get you a reservation at the members only Magic Castle. The staff have become our friends over the past few visits and we look forward to returning this weekend to visit the magic of the staff and the Hills! We have had amazing service and good converstion from all the staff but especially, Gretchen, Kristen, Gabbie, Z and our all time favorite--NIck (you rock, Nick!). Thanks for the VIP treatment, you guys are the best! : -)

AMAZING bang for your buck
We stayed at the hollywood hills hotel after I kept hearing about Magic Castle and knew I had to check it out. From the moment we arrived we loved it. The staff was nice, friendly, and professional. They offer free snacks and soda! The hotel is up on a hill and provides beautiful views from your own balcony. It's a 5 minute walk to Hollywood Blvd. As mentioned there's a shuttle to take you up, and it seems to always be available at a seconds notice. Granted, if you're looking to stay in a luxury hotel, this isn't it. But my room was clean, large, had amazing views, and the staff was spectacular. That coupled with the location definitely made this hotel perfect.
