Friendly staff
Rooms were a bit small, but that is expected with such a good price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is not the best, but is easy to get to using the S-bahn. Quiet neighborhood, but look out, they are under new management and the sign outside makes it unclear as to if you are in the right place.

Excellent price
Stayed here in nov 2012 . Room was with shared bathroom , but to be honest I only saw 1 other person using this . So I had it all to myself . Yes the room was basic but this was only a base for me and my husband it was clean though , seen a few bad reviews about the location so was a bit worried but I had no need. The station is a max 9 minutes walk to the hotel . There is also a few restaurants in the area just near the station we had a beautiful Italian 1 night . The breakfast in the hotel was buffet style and excellent , all the staff are very friendly and norbek the receptionist is excellent about telling u how to get around Berlin with very good knowledge of the history , please don't let others put you off this hotel it's cheap and very good value for money . Berlins public transport is the best in Europe and you can get around the city very easily

Family Trip to Berlin, Good Value for Money
Had planned a short City Holiday with the family (Wife and 2 kids) - we did proceed and take a family room at this hotel. The room in itself was not large, but then again we needed a place to stop, shower and sleep - nothing more. Staff at the hotel was nice, polity and gave valid information - no major surprises and we have been very satisfied with hotel, location (a bit off the main area, but we planned to U-bahn our way through the city anyway) and facilities available was reasonable. We do recognise the fact that cleaning was (certain days) rather late, but this does not really make any difference for us, since we have been quick in and out of the room when needed. All in all - they give no presumption of being a luxury hotel; it's a place for sh#t, shower and shave - and in all terms, delivery was as expected, no fuss nor problems encountered. The fact that i could park the car at the premises was a great plus ++

Hostel-like accommodation
The noises from the corridors reached the room quite easily and there was a strong smell of smoking in the room even though it should have been smoke-free. The "twin bed" consisted of two seperate beds on wheels and they drifted apart from each other because of the wheels, very romantic. Didn't expect that a "hotel" would have rooms without an own bathroom. The breakfast instead was rich and tasty, but it was charged separately.

Location main drawback
We have just returned from a weekend in Berlin and stayed at this hotel. It was exactly as I expected. Basic rooms but very clean, excellent shower ( we had an en suite room), good temperature control in room, absolutely no noise problem from autobahn, generally friendly and helpful staff, a very good breakfast, drink and snack prices not excessive ( only a small bar area) and of course cheap ! The downside is it is not well located. Well out from the main attractions of Berlin, and a ten minute walk from the U or S stations. Also a ten minute walk from any snack bar, cafe or any other facility. Doesn't seem much but after a day of walking round the city it was far enough. Also it stopped you popping back to hotel. Journey to Potsdam / Brandenburg Gate excluding walk to station was about 30 minutes and to get to most places you would have to change at least once. Check on the rail map - the station for the hotel is heidelburger platz. If you do stay here the Welcome card is a must ( ¿¿¿26 for 72 hours for 3 zones including airport. S45 train from airport( station is easy walking distance from airport) and then change to S41. Also if returning on a weekend please note train routes are different so check beforehand. Journey time from airport about an hour. Taxi from airport to hotel or from hotel to centre about ¿¿¿30 according to hotel. If you do stay make sure you visit the local Italian called la Mia Toscana. About 12 minutes walk from hotel, ( up to the traffic lights and turn left then about 200 yards on the right). This restaurant was exceptionally good. Reasonably priced compared to centre hotels, good service and excellent food. The best Italian I can remember going to. The lamb cutlets were particularly good! We asked the hotel for recommendations to eat and they sent us off on the train towards centre. This Italian was so much better than anywhere else we ate - very highly recommended.
