very good and comfortable nights sleep. They have got the maximum functions out of a limited space by multitasking on several parts of the room.....means the floor gets a bit wet after the shower...but overall great. Engine nuts like me spent hours staring through the glass floor at the preserved engines....very bright and shiny. Staff ok but limited English which is unusual in Sweden.....only gets 4 circles because while the price was ok, was not the cheapest....but you could argue the view was fantastic....

As many have said this has to be one of the cheapest hotels in Stockholm, but seriously has to be one of the best. Staff friendly and rooms comfortable (albeit small but it's a small ship!) Really unique experience to stay here, very clean and very convienent and easy to reach Gamla Stan and the centre of Stockholm on foot. Gorgeous views of the city from the resturant (try the reindeer- delicious!) and deck. Breakfast very good and plenty of choice. All in all a fantastic experience to stay in this hotel.

I was having a really hard time finding a hotel in Stockholm that had a window and a private bathroom for under 200$. Finally, I stumbled upon Malardrottningen which provided both, but on a boat! I knew from reviews that the room would be small, which was concerning since I am claustrophobic, but I felt okay about it knowing that the window could be opened. RoomI am glad we went ahead and booked at this hotel. We requested a room facing the water and were lucky to get one. The room was tiny and my husband and I had to sleep separately on bunkbeds (that was a first in our relationship), but the room was private and the beds were comfy. I had no problem with the main area of our cabin, but our bathroom was very very tiny. It felt like they had crammed a toilet and sink into a shower stall. Water went everywhere when I showered and there was not much room to move around to shave, but I made it work. Free wi-fi worked just fine in the room. The window did open, but with some difficulty. The cabin was a bit aged and I imagine has mold issues as rain came in the window even when it was shut. Paint needs retouching as well, but this didn't affect our stay. FoodBreakfast was okay, but in desperate need of fresh fruit. Most hotels we stayed at on our two week trip through Scandinavia had many fruit items, but here there were only tiny old apples and jam. Breakfast was also crowded with a small enclosed hallway for people to get their food. They should fix the layout so that there are table of food in the middle. I will say the scrambled eggs were nearly raw and looked incredibly unappetizing. Dinner was actually better than I expected, in comparison to breakfast. It was a bit expensive, but we enjoyed the beautiful views and excellent service. The apple crumble dessert was very delicious. LocationWe liked staying in Gamla Stan. It was a much quieter part of the city and nearby Old Town is especially quaint. The Riddarholmen cathedral is very beautiful as is the square it sits in. The metro is a short walk from the hotel. I thought the location was great for the price. Although there were some things that could be improved, I felt that the hotel was very fairly priced for Stockholm. The experience of staying on an old fashioned yacht in the city was unforgettable as well!

Our stay on the M¿¿lardrottning was unfortunately disappointing. I was prepared to find a small room, so that was okay, but everything was so much more shabby than expected. The porthole might have been original with a great view, but it didn't close proper, so there was a draft all the time. (And it was cold). The tv was mounted on the wall, but so high that it was impossible to watch it sitting in the chair or the lower bed. On the upper bed on the other hand the light didn't work, or rather: the lamp was completely removed and not replaced, so you couldn't read without using the main lamp. We were lucky and got every morning a table at the windows for breakfast, and again: fantastic view. But the frames were a bit rusty and didn't close proper, either. Everything just needed a proper renovation. All in all did I expect more

Me and my boyfriend stayed here two nights whilst in Stockholm. Before the holiday, I had done extensive research into Stockholm hotels and found this to be one of the best priced. I was a little skeptical before arriving, as I knew the rooms were going to be small from the photos I had seen. However, there was plenty of space for our small suitcases and the shower/toilet room was a decent size too. In terms of service, I rate the staff 100%. They were pleasant and helpful. There was an extensive choice for breakfast; including cereals, breads, sausage, yoghurts.....and even sweets! An added bonus of this hotel is also that it has its own sauna. It's fairly small and you have to book a slot at reception, but its relaxing. The hotel is located right next to 'Gamla Stan' which is the island containing the Old Town; a beautiful place with nice bars and restaurants, shops, and generally a nice place to be in Stockholm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I couldn't recommend it enough.
