Average - ok rooms and breakfast
Stayed at Birger Jarl, when visiting Stockholm for business. The hotel looks much better on the website than live. Nice reception area, but worn out hallway. The room (single room) was OK at the tops furniture nice but very crammed and non personal. All in all adequate for a one night stay but not for a longer stay.

Super Hotel at a fair price
I stayed at the Birger Jarl for one night and will gladly recommend the hotel for other to use. The location is a little off, but still within walking distance to the center and the sub is running close to the hotel. Fine rooms, good service and pleasant environment.

One night in Stockholm
Stayed here and must say that the hotel was fantastic. Firstly it's not central. It's about a 2km walk from the Central Station. If its a nice day you can walk it in 30 minutes but if not then a cab ride costs about 100 SEK (ten pounds/Euros)Hotel is in a good location with nice bars and resturants around. I had the smallest room in the hotel and it was room enough. All rooms have a hair dryer (useless as I am bald) an iron, kettle and coffee/tea.Staff are excellent, will certainly stay there again. Great for an overnight stay.

Very Negative Experience
I booked this hotel in "booking" but my flight was cancelled the day of the visit due to the european strike of Lufthansa. I called "booking" and they called the hotel to ask for cancellation due to the special situation, they even proposed to change the date of the visit since I will go anyway to Stockholm in the next weeks.They did not accept any of the possibilities and charged me fully.I will never go there again.

Very decent hotel in the heart of Stockholm
Very responsive personal at reception ¿¿¿ the proposed all the options, and advised a good place for dinner. Free Internet connection, a coffee set, and a personal safe ¿¿¿ what else would you need? Ah.. an iron! I missed that little thing in the room. The place is quiet event though it¿¿¿s a very center of the city. Breakfast was excellent, I was surprised.The room was clean, but simple ¿¿¿ every item of furniture is literally from EKEA. Bath equipment was even simpler and almost perfectly clean ¿¿¿ I a bit sensitive to cleanness in a bath rooms, so I¿¿¿m never 100% happy with hotels. Elevators silently required a guest card to operate ¿¿¿ that made my stumbled for a minute. But I must admit that everything is translated to English, and I finally figured out. I really like the fact that everything is translated to English in Sweden, so travelers have slim chance to get lost in there. Everything in Sweden is pricey for foreigners, but the hotel has still good prices, taking into account the location.Bottom line: recommended.
