this is no way a 4star hotel,as previously stated many times.3max.uphill from mar. de pombal metro,in the business district,with a couple of cafe/bars nearby.i asked for and got a smoking room on the9th floor,my room was a 'suite',i think.enormous!had no problems with cleanliness at all.room cleaner was excellent.at the weekend there appeared to be a staffing problem so that the receptionist was also the barman.i liked him too.all the staff seemed to be doing a good job with limited time.finally got the 'free' wifi working and my connection was good.breakfast for 8.5euro was also adequate and cheaper than the place round the corner.all in all for a 'touristic' 3nights to see lisbon,this hotel suited me fine.pricewise was the value option but with minimal facilities.clientele were multinational,whoalso stayed but a few nights.20 minutes downhill stroll to town is an ideal trip for a 'city stroller' tourist like me so would recommend this for those who like a central,3star type experience.luxury elsewhere!

Avoid at all costs!
We stayed there for a group holiday (3 people). We reserved and paid deposit for 2 double rooms. When we got there the reservation was completely mistaken, in spite of booking directly on the hotels website. They told us we have one triple room, and the reception clerk was extremely unhelpful and in the end gave us a second room, but without mentioning he will charge us for it. It was good we realized that on time and showed him the printouts of the reservation. The maids were screaming outside in the hallway to each other and shortly after we checked in (trying to nap) one of them entered in the room (no knocking), just directly entered. We made the reservation on their website and still when we got there the reception clerk asked for my credit card (which I already provided when making the booking)- writing the details on a loose piece of paper, including the CVV number! Extremely unprofessional!!! The hotel doesn't have an iron - of all the business hotels I¿¿ve stayed in i¿¿ve never come accross this - the only option to get your clothes ironed is to pay for the service. The location was ok and the hotel was old-school furnished but relatively clean although the bathroom smelled like sewerage. We wouldn¿¿t stay there again for sure and definitely not recommend it.

4 Star Hotel?? Are you having a laugh??!!
So we pulled up and the heavily creased flags outside were just the start! We go through to reception and its not too bad, a little dirty but I can live with that.We then go up to our room in the tiniest ever list that smells of an unwashed man. We come out of the lift to a very dated and damp ridden landing. We then walk in to the room which from a distance doesn't look to bad. The wardrobes were battered and need to be refurbished but again I can live with that.Then I went into the bathroom and had to wade through a sea of hairs (YES HAIRS!!!) on the bathroom floor. I felt sick!! Never in my life have I been so disgusted!! The shower curtain was closed so I pulled it back to reveal a dirty, scummy old bath with as many hairs as what were on the bathroom floor! Between the broken shower head and heavily stained towels I couldn't have had a shower even if I had wanted one!!I then went around the room to check if everything else was ok. To my disgust I pulled back the bedding to reveal even more hairs!! Seriously this person must have had no more hairs on there body! They were all over the room!In my opinion they need to scale down the size of the TV and invest in some decent cleaners. Never in my life will I step foot in that hotel I would have given it 1 star let alone 4!!!!Please do not enter!!!!

No way is this a 4 star hotel!
This hotel is very outdated. My room had a filthy carpet and all the furnishings looked very tired. Wardrobe horrible and smelly inside. Tea and coffee comprised 5 sachets of sugar and a crumpled camomile tea bag. Minibar had drinks but no snacks, and was not replenished. No clock/bedside radio. Wifi signal extremely weak and frequently dropped out. In room info there is a passing mention of room service available for drinks, breakfast and snacks, but you don't get a menu anywhere telling you what you can order. Walls between rooms very thin, and plumbing very loud. Reception staff lovely, and my bed was comfy and spotless - which are the only good things I can say. Five mins steep uphill walk from major metro station, which is good, but there is nothing to do at all in the area outside the hotel. I would not even class this timewarp of a place as a 3 star, never mind a 4. Not what I expected at all.

Quiet old-world charm and comfortable.
If you like the plastic chains this one is not for you. It has old-world charm and spacious interiors tastefully furnished, especially the foyer is worth a second look. It is quiet (excellent lifts), and the staff are calm and courteous - nothing too much trouble. Location in a quiet street just behind the main Avenida Liberdade a nice walk away from the centre.
