A wonderful place to stay.
What a wonderful suprise I had when entering the Madison Hotel, it was like being in another era of history and to top it all off the service was outstanding. Surrounded with all the beauty of the past it still had all the ammenities of today and the most comfortable beds around. Will certainly go back to this little gem of luxury.Great food and drinks in the restaurants.

Old fashioned country style
Good choice in Morristown, NJ. Conveniently located (rail station just across the parking lot). Big rooms, nicely furnished, well kept, spotless clean.Friendly and attentive staff. several restaurants and bar available on site.

Great for a Wedding
We just stayed here for a couple days for a wedding. This is your prototypical wedding hotel. There is a large glass conservatory for wedding receptions and it works really well. There are numerous banquet rooms leading to the conservatory that vary in sizes. There is enough space for pretty much any wedding. As for the hotel rooms they are ok. We stayed in a room on the second floor with a king bed. The bathroom sink counter space is way too small. The bed is firm but comfortable. The TV is old school kind, not a flat panel but it has Direct TV. Shower water pressure could be better. The room/bathroom was clean. Wifi is free which is always nice. There are areas of the hotel that smell very musty like they have had water leaks. You can spot areas outside the hotel were you can see obvious wood rot. They have the heat turned up in the pool area that makes it feel more like a sauna. Way too warm to stay for any length of time. The hotel has a continental breakfast that is pretty good. Pastries, bagels, bread, fruit, cereal and yogurt are what you can expect. Had no problems with any of the staff. If your having a wedding, this place is a must for consideration.

An Exceptional Hotel!!
I have stayed here a number of times. I grew up in Madison and now live in CA. I always stay here when I go to pick up my son at college in PA. It gives me a chance to drive through the areas I remember and visit.The hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. The rooms are decorated very nice and the beds are so comfortable. They also have a wonderful continental breakfast. I also appreciate the opportunity to visit in NYC and having the train station very close by. The hotel location is also very close to the highways.I always look forward to the opportunity to come back and visit.

Unique character
We have family in the Madison, NJ area and this is where we stay when we go up to visit. It is nice, affordable, with historic character that makes it a nice change from the usual chain hotels. We stayed here for the third time in April 2013. The bed was very comfortable. The bar is fun with live music and the steak house is great. The complimentary breakfast is very good, although sometimes I wish there were more places to sit. There is a pool but we have never had a chance to use it. The only negative is that it can be noisy -- there are frequent events (weddings, etc.) in the hotel and we always seem to hear a lot of hallway noise at night.
