Great hotel, great location
We stayed at the Ariosto for one night as my husband was running the Milan marathon. The hotel is in a picturesque location close to many sights of Milan. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The rooms were nicely furnished, however there was not one room that could accomodate all 4 of us. Breakfast was basic but included in the rate. There was no parking at the hotel but there was a secure garage at the end of the street and hotel guests received a reduced rate. Overall a lovely hotel.

Brief stay in Milan!
We spent very little time in this hotel when we visited Milan for one night in November 2012. We were visiting the city to see a football match at San Siro, and I wanted a hotel on the western side of the city, not far from Metro stations for easy access to the suburbs. The hotel is also easily accessible from the centre of the city, where main attractions are. We arrived on the airport transfer bus, and had an appointment with Da Vinci to see the Last Supper, and then we wandered to see the Duomo before strolling to our hotel. All walkable, and the Metro station is just around the corner from the hotel.The hotel itself was clean and tidy, in a lovely venerable looking building on a well heeled street in a good district. No noise apart from the rattling trams which pass nearby infrequently. I can't comment on the breakfast as we left too early to partake!! The reception staff were reasonably helpful and polite. Our room was good, although the bed was a bit uncomfortable, and I didn't have the best night's sleep. We couldn't work the air conditioning, it was quite confusing! If we had been staying longer I would have made a point of getting someone to help us with it.I would recommend this hotel as a good base for a visit to Milan, there were no major problems, and it is certainly in a good street, as none of the other rowdy footie fans got off at our stop, and the Metro was heaving!! It was nice to get out of the train and walk the quiet streets back to our hotel at 11pm and not feel threatened in any way!

Great price and location is pretty close to most attractive
The hotel staff was pretty nice. The hotel was clean and small. The breakfast was continental and very tasty. The location is about a 10 minute walk to major attractions. A city you can see in a day. The bed was very uncomfortable. Make an appointment to see the last supper and try gelato at shokolat.

Reasonable
The good:The location of the hotel is very convenient, a stone's throw away from the Santa Maria delle Grazie church where The Last Supper painting is housed. A good 15-20 min stroll/brisk walk to the Duomo. A supermarket is also just around the block if you're in need of something. Great pizzerias only about a 10 minute walk away as well. The staff were very helpful in showing directions, leading us to restaurants and calling the cab.The bad:The room looked very dated but the bathroom was clean and amenities were great and sufficient. Our room was facing the street hence the trams were quite noisy. There were no hospitality trays to make tea/coffee but if you don't need these things then you're fine. Also, I did not realize breakfast was included when I booked the hotel and the receptionist warned me to ask next time. As a paying guest, it would be nice if he would mention the breakfast times or whatever when I checked in instead of hinting it was my fault for not asking. Reasonably priced for a short stay.

Charming
Lovely, helpful staff. Very retro and simple. Great breakfast and courtyard. Excellent location with nearby parks. Staff recommended good (reasonably priced) restaurants nearby. Also on a tramline which is very atmospheric!
