Great Base
I stayed only two nights for a working weekend and it was fine. Very central, comfy, and quiet. The room was rather tired in decor but clean and easy to warm up (weather was sunny, but cold!). If visiting for a holiday, I might choose something a bit nicer however if using the hotel as a base for seeing Madrid it is more than okay. Breakfast offered a lot of choice and the coffee was delicious. The bathroom had a powerful shower over the bath however the glass shower screen was several centimetres above the top edge of the bath, so it flooded despite taking care. A relaxing bath was less messy! The hotel is easy walking distance to bars and restaurants.

Nice hotel for groups
Very nice hotel. The staff is attentive and professional. I had a problem with the safe. I tested it out with my papers inside (won't do that again) and it locked and immediately gave an error message. I couldn't get it back open. I called down to the front desk and someone was there to help in 3 minutes. That's what I call service. They have singles, doubles and triples. The doubles are usually 2 beds they push or pull apart depending if it's a couple or not. They are en suite and they have daily housekeeping which is excellent. The elevator is tiny and clostrophobic but accessible. They also have a wheelchair ramp out front. The rooms are tiny and so are the bathrooms so I would call first if you have an accessibility issue.

A Good 3 Star Hotel
I stayed in Hotel Zurbano for 3 nights with a friend because it was close to my student house. The hotel was great. The rooms were just the right size for two of us. All we really needed was somewhere comfortable to sleep and shower. The hotel wasn't very busy but I could see that if the hotel were to be busy, it would be noisy in the room because the walls are quite thin. I have seen others write this, although we didn't have this problem it could be a problem. On the other hand it was very close to the metro and very accessible to the centre by bus. Its easy both for the centre and for the airport. Would recommend for students or people who want accessiblity and are on a budget.

Noisy hotel
I booked it because I had a special deal with the University, they have single rooms.Downs: noisy rooms. When your neighbor closes the door you will probably feel it! Problems with hot water, I've stayed 3 times, and always had the same issue, temperature will oscillate in the middle of your shower. Ups: Nice breakfast, Good location (very close to the metro Gregorio Maranon), Free WiFi (slow), and amenities in the room. Employees: most of them are nice.

Perfectly situated and connected
Easy to access from airport - taxi, metro - 15 - 25 min upon traffic; well connected via metro or city trains. Internet is free and WiFi has a good coverage and speed, provided by Swisscom. (Recently I found more and more hotels WiFi internet access operated by Swisscom - seems Swisscom found attractive business model)Breakfast was good, personell friendly and skilled. Around, within 10 min. walk, are situated a bunch of good restaurants, bars, cafes. What was wrong is that I was unable to control temperature in the room - airconditioner works only simmer time, central heating does not allow room adjustment.
