Never again
I was there in April 2013 . It was for only one night before my cruise . At first the agency booked for us the Rialto hotel , but when we came they told us that they over booked and they sent us to barcino hotel. We got a terrible room n. 212 it was a small room with a small bed 1.35 meter not for 2 people the room was without a window!!!! And a very bad smell , I almost cry when I saw the room . The staff were very rude and didn't want to change the room or to help us. Please don't go there ever. Horrible place .

great location
The hotel is situated about 5 min walk to the popular la ramblas. It is in a side busy street in the heart of barcelona tourist attraction area.The hotel has a beautiful entry hall and the reception staff is helpful too. Most of them speak a good English.but unluckily the hotel not provide the kettle and the breakfast is an extra cost

Great location, relatively clean but not 4 star
Stayed here for a couple of nights in March 2013.Firstly, the Good:- Rooms and bathroom were on the whole clean (a very important factor for me)- Location couldn't be faulted - 5 minute walk to Metro station and Las Ramblas.- Taxi stand is 30 seconds away which is very convenient.- Great array of restaurants/cafe's/gelato's within 5 mins away- Free Wi-Fi in lobby, although we still got great signal on the 2nd floor in our room ;)- Balcony in room was a nice touch.The Bad:- At this time of the year Barcelona is cool, but there didn't appear to be any heating in the room. The thermostat was put to max, but still no improvement in room temperature. As a result, it was a very cold night so much so I slept with my hoody on (yes with the hood up).- 1 accessible plug socket is unacceptable in a "4 star hotel". Hint: there is a socket behind the dressing table if you move it forward a little ;)- Electronic door card stopped working, which meant an incovenient trip to reception to get it reset - at the end we just got the card reset as a matter of course when going past reception just in case it didn't work!- Breakfast was included - looked average at best. Certainly not worth EUR16 if you wanted to purchase. Overall it is an average hotel - If you go with the mindset that it's a 3 star you'll find it ok, but will be dissapointed if you're expecting 4 star (which it officially is). The main negative that ruined the quality of the stay was the cold room - the other bad points I can live with. But the location did make up for some of the dissapointments.

Average Hotel - could find better
We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel in March 2013. It is a 4* "boutique" hotel in the city centre, just off the ramlas. By UK standard it is an average 3*. Rooms are OK, basic and clean (Beds very hard). Rooms are quite noisy due to city centre noise - would serious recommend ear plugs for a good nights sleep. Breakfast is average (certainly not worth Euro 16 if it was not included in the overnight price). Reception staff appear to have special training in being non helpful and distant (frosty & grim). Bar not open(appear to be closed).

Selected this as it was 4 star - it is not!
My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of March 2013. We arrived at 10.30 pm and would have relished a welcoming concierge - unfortunately, he must have been on leave that evening as the concierge on duty was as unwelcoming as I have yet met! Poor start to the weekend! We didn't sleep for the 3 nights we were there. Our room faced on to a laneway (which we thought might have been quiet) but the noise kept us awake each night - we needed a break after we returned from our break! The room was very mediocre - just 1 electrical socket available for customer use, not enough hangers in the wardrobe, no drawers in which to place shirts, underwear etc. The shower head kept slipping - had to hold it up to direct the spray. Holes in the bed sheets etc. The hotel is in a great location - but that is its only saving grace. Would not stay there again.
