Good stay- near the stadium
Had a business stay- the staff were very efficient. Check-in was swift and my request for specific room (courtesy TA) was obliged.Not many toiletries ...

May have been a 5* once!
The hotel is comfortable enough but showing signs of wear an tear. The Conference facilities are very good. 3 Floors of large flexible space excellent for a large conference. The standard rooms are nothing special and there is a lack of usable power sockets for the modern day business man.The location is in the business district so do not expect to walk to the beach its a go 20 minute taxi ride away. One of the things that is 5* is the prices our conference special price of 160 Euro per night and a mall beer for 5.59 Euro.Conclusion its OK but over priced for its condition!

5 stars ... or better 4 !
This 5 star hotel in Barcellona is a nice place to stay. I've been there for a conference, so I've also appreciated the reception capability of a large number of people.The rooms are ok, nice and clean, but can be rated as a 4 star, not 5 ! This is why I have rated 3/5 ... if the hotel had 4 stars I would have rated 5/5.Moreover, also the breakfast was nice, with a wide rage of choice. Being at a conference, I've also been able to taste the lunch, which again was very good. Finally, as I stayed there during my birthday, the hotel was very nice to give to me a small cake !

Ok 4* but not a 5* hotel
The hotel itself looked lovely and was clean and tidy but it didn't feel like a 5* hotel! When we got their the receptionist asked if we wanted to upgrade to a club room for an additional charge each night, we did this and paid the additional cost when we got to our room though it was not better than a small 4* hotel room so I fear what the standard room that we had originally paid for would have been like. We also didn't find out until our final nights stay that upgraded to club meant you got additional features I.e a club lounge with free drinks which we would of used rather than paying 6 euros for a small coke at the down stairs bar.Overall the hotel was clean and tidy but I wouldn't say that it was anywhere near any other 5* hotels that I have stayed in.

Good stay- near the stadium
Had a business stay- the staff were very efficient. Check-in was swift and my request for specific room (courtesy TA) was obliged.Not many toiletries were available but were on the call. Some of them can be maintained unless they are worried of lifting.The cushion of the study chair was not good- however, I could realize just because I had a sensitive leg.Pillows were exceptionally good and large- much more compared to the German hotels.Breakfast has a good variety and worth the value.

wonderful stay - business, tennis, and children
We are just concluding a six night stay at the Gran Hotel Princesa Sofia where my husband concluded his business conference. I had the opportunity to watch Rafael Nadal at the Barcelona Open that was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel, 5 minute taxi ride (less than 4 Euros). My young children had a wonderful experience in their first trip to Europe largely due to the Club facilities, an option we took when we checked in for an extra fee that was well-worth it.Having fresh fruit, pastries, meats, and other delicious snacks and beverages at any given time saved so much time as there was always a place to relax and be taken care of such as a day of touring the city. A special note of appreciation to all the courteous, pleasant, and professional staff at the Club which provided a living room atmosphere (art books, computers, conversation areas) for the guests that made our visit so much more personal and relaxing. I looked forward to seeing Alba as she was so nice, and especially helpful in trying to work out ideas for the children. The hotel met the high-tech requirements my husband needed, the safe and well-taken care of feeling that a large property can give, and the option of kind, personal attention when we needed it. As with the other reviews, I can see their point, but for our party that had a bit of varied requirements, we can truly say we had a 5 star stay at this hotel.
