Nice hotel, great staff.
This is a great little hotel in the middle of Nice. Very convenient location. The rooms are great, beds are good compared to most beds I have experienced in Europe, and the staff was great. Everybody was very helpful and accommodating. We found a good rate for a four star hotel and booked it, very glad we did. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Good Stay in Nice
We stayed at the Hotel Ellington on a tour. The hotel is nice and clean, the location is within walking distance of most sites and the beach, but the air conditioning was not turned on and we were told to open our windows at night, which was a bit noisy. Reception did provide a fan, probably the only one, and that helped. If you plan to come here during the warmer months, check that the air conditioning is actually turned on in advance. Breakfast was very good. Please note that if you have allergies, the sheets and pillow cases might present an issue because the hotel uses scented detergent. The towels do not have this problem for some reason. We had to place the towels over the sheets and pillow cases to avoid the scent.

Bedrooms need updating
Well situated hotel, nice staff but....... Our bathroom and bedroom needed updating, we were told we had been upgraded , if so, I'd hate to see our original room!!! Would we go back.. NO.Breakfast was nice, bar nice area, but said that it was a jazz hotel - no live music whilst we were there.Ask for towels for the beach should you need them - useful to know.

Friendly staff, clean, neat hotel, but too much street noise on the north side of the hotel
The hotel is very clean and neat. The staff was very friendly, but we did not sleep well because we had a room on the north side of the hotel and it looked out onto a very noisy street. The street noise was quite loud in the room both during the day and all night long. The rooms on the south side might be quieter, but since we were there for only a couple days and this was our only time we stayed here, we cannot confirm that those rooms are quiet. One tip. The internet is free in the lounge, but you need to get a paper with a login and password from the desk. This is good for one hour and for one computer. So if you have two computers, for example if you and your wife each have a computer, you will need to pick up two papers with the logins and passwords. There is internet in the rooms, but there is a charge for that and we did not pay that charge.

Lovely little hotel right in centre of nice!
Lovely little hotel in the centre of nice which is a short walk to the shopping district. Our room was at the back and we didn't experience any noise issues. Hotel was very clean and breakfast was typical continental with vast array of fresh fruit, pastries, meats, bread rolls, yoghurts and some sausages bacon and egg etc. Got taxi from the airport to this hotel and charged 40 euro however there is a bus that you can catch on the promenade which takes you to the airport for only a few euro. Just ask hotel staff where you can catch this. The only disadvantage to this hotel is that the bar is extremely overpriced! They do a happy hour but still, drinks are expensive! We had a lovely time in nice though and hope you will too!
