Great location, comforts somewhat impaired by renovation
We all know the saying (allegedly by Conrad Hilton) that the three most important things about a hotel are location, location, location ... On that basis the Chancery Court Hotel is perfect: in a lively part of Holborn, next door to the tube station where the Piccadilly and Central Lines intersect, so pretty much all of London is within easy reach by public transportation (Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express are a 15 minute cab ride away), and the British Museum is within five minutes' walking distance.The hotel maintains a high standard under somewhat difficult circumstances - it is undergoing major renovation so the reception area is cramped and we were warned about construction noise during the day (which we did not, however, experience). We were upgraded to a large, recently renovated room (349) which was very quiet (a long walk through many corridors, though) and had a somewhat unfinished look to it - bare white walls, no decoration (maybe for the good? Hotel "art" can be quite awful). For once an air conditioning system that worked efficiently and was easy to control. A Nespresso machine with three varieties of coffee and good quality tea were provided. Large bathroom with plenty of space to set up your toiletries and stuff.Breakfast is served in the bistro-like restaurant on the other side of the drive-in doorway which is a bit inconvenient. The buffet is up to standard but closes at 10:30am (the guest services directory does not mention this but says breakfast until 11am) so you have to order ¿¿ la carte afterwards. No big deal, prices are quite reasonable, but the service was very slow. There's room for improvement here.

Wonderful hotel - great location
Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Chancery Court Hotel ... never posted a review before but felt the need as this hotel is so good!! The beautiful period building is complimented by large, contemporary bedrooms - the Super King bed was a joy and the room was spotless. The location is perfect & the friendly, helpful staff are always on hand to offer advise, book tickets etc. etc. Would 100% recommend this to anyone who is looking for a central London hotel - cannot wait to return! Tip: We booked directly with the hotel & enjoyed a "stay longer for less package" (3 nights for the price of 2)

Superb room brilliant staff
Just returned from a London weekend staying at the Chancery Court. Hotel was great, booked the package through Secret Escapes. Cannot fault the hotel, the room was terrific and the staff were incredibly helpful. Booked a package that included breakfast this was also fantastic. The only downside were the exorbitant prices in the bar but we only went in once! The hotel is perfectly placed in High Holborn, close to Covent Garden and the West End and right next to Holborn tube station. We will return.

Quiet, tasteful, and reliable hotel
Stayed here on business for a total of 8 nights. The rooms are large, clean, and have the things a business traveler wants, namely, comfortable beds, cleanliness, good internet -- wired and wireless, working amenities, including good water pressure, and good soundproofing. The staff are always helpful. Their special "third night free" promotion is an excellent value. There are plenty of good places to eat in the neighborhood.My only "gripe" is that the hotel is sub-optimal if you have to do much work in the room, because the table and lounge chair they have in each of the rooms is a poor substitute for a desk with a good working chair.
