Very good place to stay. We walked to reach everything. Good breakfast and good beds. Helpful personal. It was raining most of the time, but not much Wind, an umbrella reached.Salzburg has a lot of concerts all the time and also interesting museums and Places. We enjoyed the stay.

Best laid plans.....
Booked this hotel for position in quiet neighbourhood backing onto a park within easy walk of old town and a good evening deal offer. Hotel as expected and the meal was superb quality and value. However large group of jet lagged Japanese chatted under the window for much of the early hours, the wifi was unobtainable after said Japanese had checked in ,skyping no doubt and we were delayed on checking out by a lobby full of quess who. The garage door failed on exit and some minutes to fix it. The room was poky for this brand and the bathroom inconveniently laid out, difficult for a tall man like me to shower. Be aware that there is another Mercure 100 metres away. Needless to say I initially tried to check in at the wrong one. Otherwise the hotel was clean and the staff excellent

Good hotel but....
It' s a very good hotel to check in if you visit Salzburg ( walking distance from old town , good services etc). I' ve stated there for 3-4 times so what have happened this time was at least strange : they ' ve asked for a credit card number or 50 Euro ( for two double rooms) as a warranty. The rooms were paid ( 1 or 2 months before). I was travelling with my wife , son and sister in law and as you can see in my profile picture I am not the kind of guy to drink everything from the minibar and run with the TV set and eventually the curtains ! Explanation : this is the procedure/ rule and we must obey . I don't want to be missunderstood : guys vrom the reception were OK but it's quite difficult to look into somebody's eyes and tell him you are afraid he is not going to pay something you are not very sure he is going to use. Anyhow I gave them 50 Euros and everything was fine!

Near the sights!!
We took a cab from the train station to the hotel which came to around Eur 8 . The bus charges around Eur 2 per person. There were 3 of us so it was reasonable. The hotel is very close to the main sights and very convenient. It took us 10mins. The service was good overall . The reception staff helpful. The hotel is close to a Eurostar supermarket . Turn right from the main entrance and just 5-7mins away.

Good location- near the railway station and old city
I have to repeat what almost all others have stated- with an addition that- it is also near the railway station. But, remember NOT to take the main exit from station.Nice, clean rooms are small-ish. WiFi was hard to catch- we had to stand near our (room)door, catch the signal and then go back to bed/couch/sofa and enjoy the internet. Not fast enough- we understood the easter-speed.Breakfast was extraordinary, Staff were very helpful and we also got a 20 EUR rebate per night stay.Worth the penny!
