Great location, safe, decent but tight sized
The location is great in a safe neighborhood on a quiet two lane street with nearby restaurants especially the famous Katz's Deli 1.5 blocks north and within 3 blocks of a subway. The room was clean and well worn but very tight meaning that the aisle around the king bed was only about 1.5-2 feet wide so not wide enough for two people and no chair but a desk and small closet. The bathroom was decent sized. I know that square footage in NYC is very expensive so that is probably the reason for the small size but too small for us Chicago suburban girls. The room which included a decent breakfast was very expensive to me but seemed to be "cheap" or a good value for its location so again probably a NYC thing. The staff was good and helpful.When staying in NYC I get the feeling that we would need to sacrifice something like being further out of downtown or pay more money to get a bigger room. I do not think that I am willing to make either of those sacrifices.

Good Location Small Rooms
The hotel is in a fabulous area but remind yourself that the establishment is budget. You are walking distance to many little shops and restaurants. Do Not miss Ha'Chi for a good sushi night. Ludlow houses many little pubs and the night scene would be described as vibrant and happening. The staff here at the comfort inn are very nice and helpful. The lady printed out directions for me which I thought was quite friendly of her. Breakfast is ok, basics to get you going. All in all it¿¿¿s a great place if you're looking to stay away from the crazy city center but yet still be in a very happening neighborhood. You get what you pay for!

Terrific neighborhood and good value
This was our second stay at the Comfort Inn Lower East Side. The location is easy walking distance to a myriad of restaurants, clubs, cinemas, even Chinatown is a relatively short walk (a great excuse to have dim sum for every meal!). The rooms are a bit cramped but clean and serviceable. The bathroom is also small, but there is plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Free breakfast--simple fare (toast, yogurt, make- your-own waffles), always a bowl of fresh fruit. These are all the pluses. BUT, if you don't like noise, you will need to be on an upper floor, or in an interior room. During our first stay, we had an interior room on an upper floor. Never noticed the noise, even on the weekend. This time, we were on the 4th floor facing Ludlow Street; it was crazy noisy on a warm Wednesday night. Fortunately, the weather turned cold, and the partying crowds thinned on Thursday night. We weren't there for Friday night, but I bet it would have been a sleepless one. So overall, an applause for the location and the hotel generally; just be mindful of the room you get if you want a quiet night!

THIS IS VALUE FOR MONEY
Having decided to travel to NY started looking for hotels through booking sites, and after finding interesting options I checked them with travelers' reviews at Tripadvisor. This is how I came to this hotel. Reviews were surprisingly good and this hotel is ranked 120 out of 434, but the interesting part is the value for money. It is clean, the people there are very kind, the breakfast is good. Keep it that way!!!

Great Location, Great Staff
For a hotel in a good location without all the frills, this is where I will stay again. I cannot say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I felt welcome and appreciated. The rooms were small but clean, the beds were comfortable.
