Great place to stay in NYC
Wonderful boutique hotel with exceptional staff that are very attentive to your every need. The rooms were spotless, very well decorated with classic furnishings. The Lucerne is a stone's throw from the Museum of Natural History and Central Park.

Location,location,location
What a great hotel! Rooms are small but comfy...great beds and great showers! Would be perfect if hair dryers were a bit better and rooms had magnifying mirrors! But, for the price, it doesn't get much better!

comfortable and so convenient to Lincoln Center
This is a well run hotel in a very convenient location with a subway station on one corner and a crosstown bus stop on the other. It is even possible to walk to Lincoln Center! Be sure to check out special offers on their website. If you're an auto club member, you'll enjoy a nice discount. Our room was large, well appointed, and comfortable.

Nice location for exploring Central Park
I stayed two nights recently and while it was no frills, it was close to Central Park and within easy walking distance of multiple attractions. I even walked back to the hotel after seeing "Kinky Boots" in the theater district, a walk that took me past the Ed Sullivan Theatre, Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, Magnolia Bakery, and enough landmarks to make the roughly 30 block walk quite pleasant.I checked in after midnight due to a late night flight, and was pleased to find a 24-hour Duane Reade directly across the street where I could grab a couple bottles of water. There was a doorman there to help with my bags, and I got checked in right away. The lobby is small, and the hallways are narrow, but I just needed a place to crash after exploring the city. My room was fine - no frills and nothing glamorous, but clean and enough room to not feel too claustrophobic like you sometimes can in NYC. The closet was pretty small, but had an ironing board and iron in case you need it. I didn't use this, but if I recall correctly, I believe the room also had a mini Keurig machine with coffee mugs and a selection of coffee and tea. I also liked the complimentary newspaper delivery - you can choose between USA Today or the NY Times.I had no view - looked directly into apartment windows next door, but the flip side was no street noise! I did not eat at the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, but it looked really pleasant and seemed popular. My first morning, I walked a couple of blocks into Central Park and spent a couple of hours exploring. I'd stay here again if the Upper West Side was my target neighborhood. I really felt almost like a local, as the hotel blended into the neighborhood like it was an apartment building.
