Very Good Short Break
Stayed at the Hotel Massena for 3 nights. The hotel is very well situated just off Massena Square and a short walk to the sea front, old town and the shopping area. The hotel staff were very good, helpful and extremely pleasant. We were upgraded for the 2nd and 3rd night to a much larger room with a newer bathroom (complimentary). Both rooms had very large beds, tea and coffee and safe. Reception area very attractive.The bus to Monacco was a bargain one euro. Restaurant Acciardo Rue Droite in the old town was very good and represented very good value. Staff extremely pleasant I would recommend booking in advance.

Location and good breakfast!
Stayed 3 nights on private vacation. Chose Massena based on rewievs here, location and price. The location is very conveniant and central for shopping, dining and sightseeing: just off place Massena. Galerie Lafayette is almost next door:) The entrance and reception area is well presented and staff is polite and helpful. The room I had was average, but clean and ok size. I requested a quiet room, my friends who had rooms facing the street was botherd by some noice. Breakfast was a very positive surprice!! Well presend, many choices and lovely coffe. All in all a good stay, and would recommend if lpcation and budget is important and you do not need 5 star luxury:)

Great location
I spent two nights here recently and the hotel exceeded my expectations. The location was superb, the rooms clean and well decorated and the beds extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. There was an excellent breakfast. Overall the hotel was well run, with a professional efficient staff. In addition there was fantastic room service that was very reasonably priced.

An excellent choice
A very central location, friendly staff and beautifully decorated lobby, loved especially all those little candles in the evening creating a lovely, unique atmosphere for a lobby. As I was obliged to use a wheelchair and crunches during the stay they kindly gave a room suitable for people with mobility impairment. The room was very big, beautifully decorated and the bathroom simply fantastic. Easy access, wide enough, many grap bars which definitely helped me a lot. Room was quiet and spotlessly clean, with a minibar and the bed was super wide and extremely comfortable, wifi also worked very well. The location of the hotel is definitely super, very close to the sea, shopping, restaurants, public transportation and the building itself was beautiful both outside and inside. I'd definitely recommend the hotel to everyone and especially if you have mobility impairments, it really makes a difference to have a room like this!

Great location... but definitely not a 4 * Hotel
I stayed here with my mum for 3 nights. Having stayed at the Boscolo Plaza previously, the reviews had said it was becoming tired and run down so we decided to try the Massena.The lobby has been newly refurbished and looked lovely. When checking in we were told we had been upgraded from a traditional room to a privilege room. The room was tiny, but the plus side was that it had a terrace area. The air conditioning was not working in the hotel and we were given a fan as the room was very hot. It made little difference. The toiletries were not replenished everyday even when they had been used. However, any time we called for assistance, the staff were quick to respond.The breakfast was decent enough, but lacked any variety and was the same everyday. Most of the staff were helpful, apart from one lady on reception who started off friendly enough, but as soon as we attempted to ask more than 2 questions in succession, it became apparent that she was bored and continued to stare at her computer lacking any people skills. The location is great. It is very central. The lovely lobby area of the hotel leads you to believe that this is a modern and smart hotel, but the rooms were a let down. The facilities are in no way worthy of the 4 star rating however, and on that basis is completely overpriced.
