A truly fantastic stay
Went to Poughkeepsie for work, staff was friendly, outgoing, went above and beyond what I expected. Hotel was clean, up to date and well worth the money. I highly recommend this hotel, was so impressed I went home and joined their rewards program.

Good value
I was at the property for one night, arriving on the late side, and leaving early. I think I had less than 12 hours at the hotel! Staff members were very friendly, and the hotel was spotless. My room was neat, clean, and comfortable. A minor "knock" on the hotel was that the elevaor seemed oddly located. Also, when I tried to use the television that evening, the satellite kept cutting in an out, and eventually all I got was 'no signal' warnings. Since I had plenty of work to do, it was not a major inconvenience, but it was a bit annoying. I would be fine staying here again.

Good value / Good service
I stayed in most of the box hotels in the Poughkeepsie and all are basically the same. The Holiday Inn Express isn¿¿¿t the newest hotel but it was exactly what I need in a hotel: a clean room, good service, hot shower and a good night¿¿¿s sleep. The internet was acceptable and they offered a decent free breakfast each morning. The managers were always present. The Office Manager checked me in, the Maintenance Man drove me in the free shuttle to the train station and the Hotel Manager checked me out ¿¿¿ pretty impressive. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there are a lot of choices within 5 minutes of the hotel. The staff told me about the Walkway over the Hudson, a few minutes away, in which you can stroll on the bridge over the Hudson ¿¿¿ a nice way to walk off dinner and take in views of the river.

Clean, friendly property
Reception was extremely friendly and room was clean. However, there was always a faint smell of smoke, even though I was in a non-smoking room. Bed as very comfortable with a wide variety of pillows. Hotel is convenient to restaurants and shopping on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie.

Well kept, great service and clean
What a nice place. We loved the people, the cleaningness, the service and how well kept it is. The included breakfast was also well presented and had very good choices. I would stay here again without a doubt.
