Enjoyed - but not for everyone!
We stayed just one night at this hotel - we were in Dublin to see the show The Lion King.The hotel was grand - friendly staff - nice spacious room - but not for everyone. The decor is quite unique - dark colours - dark reds, purples and golds. Quite dark even in the day time thus loads of lights everywhere. Nice little courtyard area for sitting out with a coffee - but loads of statues of various types of animals everywhere!!The room was on the third floor - no view at all - spacious room with flat screen tv - but no drawer space anywhere!! Very little hanging space - barely enough for one person and we were only there overnight. Nice breakfast - very friendly staff - especially the girls on reception. Overall we enjoyed our stay but as I say not for everyonelRight beside the firestation - now lots of reviews warned us against this hotel because of the noise all night long - to be honest we only heard one fire engine and that was on departure this morning.

A great hotel
Stayed here for 3 nights in December. We had a great experience. The staff were very friendly, especially those in the bar area. We ate twice in the open area beside the bar and had fab food. The steak sandwich or the nachos were particularly nice, and portions are a good size! The rooms were a little small but were clean and nicely decorated. The atmosphere though was poor for a weekend before Christmas, it was a very quiet stay. Its in a great location for walking into the city or to the train station (I would not recommend walking back at night though - it was a little dodgy). The Spar around the corner is convenient also. Overall we loved the hotel and would consider returning.

Trendy, fun, hotel with easy walk to best parts of the city.
Quirky filled lobby full of unusual furniture and decor. Excellent staff that got us settled into a room by 10:00 in the morning after arriving on a 5:30 am flight. It meant the world to us to catch up on some sleep before venturing out for the day. The room was spacious and very clean. Only significant downside was the TV which was functioning absolutely perfectly but was at least 20 years old. Not a problem since pub going is more of an activity for the night time and that was not more than a 4 or 5 block walk to the temple bar area. Hotel situated right next to Trinity College so lots of fun shops nearby as well.

A Little Disappointing
First, the positives: 1) Location is excellent in downtown Dublin. About a 5-10 minute walk to most bus stops and many great restaurants. 2) The common areas of the hotel are interesting and attractive. 3) Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. 4) Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Now, the negatives! 1) Our room was #112 and it looked quite shabby with chipped paint and a terrible paint job. 2) Not cleaned as well as it should have been. A lot of dust in the corners and the bathroom sink was not properly cleaned having built up toothpaste encrusted around the sink drain each of the 4 days that we were there. 3) Dinner in the hotel was HORRIBLE! During our 3 week trip, this was the only bad meal that we had. I complained to our waiter and they took corrective action that was satisfactory to me, but that does not negate the fact that the meal was terrible. We ordered a chicken and a pork dinner. Both meats were so overcooked and dried out that you needed water to swallow the food. 4) The dining room had the dirtiest windows overlooking Pearse St. that I have ever seen. If the windows are dirty, what does the kitchen look like? 5) You can not get just a cup of fresh brewed coffee in the morning unless you pay for room service or 15 euros for the breakfast buffet. Your best option is to walk around the corner to the Spar store for coffee and great tasting Danish. But who really wants to do that on a cold rainy morning? In the end, I would not stay there again. With a little more effort and money, management could create a top shelf experience for it's guests.

Beautiful rooms & hotel!
Trinity Capital offers a great location, great rooms, and great service!In the heart of the city, this hotel is near everything - temple bar district, a host of pubs, restaurants, shopping, etc. Location was ideal if you want to be a part of the city.We had a room on the first floor (that's the 2nd floor to us in the US). It was a Tara room, which was very large and very nice! The hotel itself is decorated well, very trendy and comfortable!The noise was minimal. You're in a city, expect some level of street noise. In our room it was not bad. The 'worst' part, which was not all that terrible, was the poor water pressure. It was worse in the morning than evening (every room was full, so I assume they just can't supply enough water to meet demand). I can live with that, though. Others who can't be prepared! For I feel the room itself and the service we received was good enough to overcome this!Oh, it also had one of the largest whirlpool bathtubs I've ever had in a room! It took a long time to fill, due to the aforementioned water pressure issue, but totally worth the wait!
