Staff need a lot of customer training
Hotel was easy ti find from Eurostar station (about 10 -15 min walk) and is very close to the Grand Place. But the walk didn't seem very safe when I was walking to Central station in the morning - some dodgy people hanging near the hotel.Hotel could easly be taken for a 5 star when entering the lobby but that's definitely not a case any further. First of all staff - soooo far behind UK standards with their customer service!! i would reccommend getting them on intense training very quickly. Their faces made me think twice before I have asked questions, it seemed that I was disturbing them, sometimes I had to wait until they finish gossiping with other staff members or they finish their paperwork before I was noticed. I've only seen one person smiling, the rest couldn't be bothered. I had a feeling they were very patronizing, making fun when I pronunce something in French in a wrong way.Rooms were advertised as "small but modern", but it wasn't the case. Furnishing was outdated, bed was very small and uncomfortable. My TV was not working when I arrived, maintanance guy fixed it. I asked him about AC not working, went to get a remote, came back and said it will work in 10 minutes. It didn't. When I asked about it at the reception, I was told that it's not connected and it will not work. (???). The room was very hot and I had to keep the balcony door opened. The lamp above desk, one of the sockets and shower also did not work properly, all reported and nothing done. You also can't close the door from inside which again didn't seem very safe to me as I was travelling alone ( I was told it's because they need to be able to get to the room in case of emergency, but I know hotels use special keys which can override the inside lock). Breakfast was ok, enough to get full for half of the day. Would not stay in here again. I travel alone a lot and it;s very important for me that I'm able to talk to staff as usually they know the best places to go and have the most of insice knowledge. Not in this case. Shame, if the staff were more friendly I would be more than happy to reccomend even so the rooms were not the best.

Short break
Husband had to go to Brussels for work so I tagged along. We chose Bedford Hotel for location and price, then I looked on here and some of the write ups weren't that favourable! We found the staff extremely pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel and room were very clean, bed was comfy with the option of three pillows! Breakfast was plentiful.Excellent location, walking distance from Eurostar and to Grand Place.

Needs to improve
This hotel has some good things and some bad things.Good:- Location (3 min walking from the Manneken Pis and 5 from the Grand Place and less than 10 from the Central Station)- BedRoom: The bde is brilliant and you will sleep very well. The room is big and with a living room area.The staff is average (They could be nicer). The breakfast is also average. Bad:- Internet access: Really slow and only in the common areas- Old forniture: Really old furniture kind which needs to be replace. - Service: They did not make our room one day. Towels and bed sheets were not changed.In overall, they need to improve in different areas to get a better score from me. However, it was a good deal for the money we paid.

Nice and pleasant 2 night stay
very nice hotel, had a very pleasant stay, in the old city of brussels, like 5 minutes walk from grote markt...nice breakfast, helpful service.all in all can recommend it further :)the rooms are a bit small, but considering you are there for a visit and spend 2/3 of the day outside, one doesn't necessarily need a football pitch :)

Best location
This was my 2nd stay ; no development happened in the hotel since last year ;; Still its big advantage is the location - 10 mn to grande palce / place de la monnaie / la bourse / la gare centrale .. Rooms are too small ; so i advice you to ask possibility to get one of the rooms on the other side of the parking (like studios)
