Business Meeting
I was in charge of planning a business meeting in Munich. We chose the Kempenski and were not disappointed. Most of the rooms are updated and a good size. Very nice. Only downside was it looked out into the courtyard with renovations going on.Being in the city center allowed for short walks to shopping and restaurants.Meeting room was good size, the banquet/catering staff was fabulous. The food was excellent. The sales staff did an outstanding job meeting all of our changing needs.The fitness center and pool on top of the building offer a very nice view, makes working out more enjoyable than being in a basement.It is rated a five star, which is reflected in the cost. But they work very hard to deliver the 5 star experience.Again, the only downside was the renovation noises going on. Once the renos are finished, the hotel will be excellent.

Go for the Shower
Don't miss the shower - touch operated, digital temperature setting (don't worry if it takes a long time for the water to heat up - be patient), large rain like shower head in the center of the shower (besides a regular large shower head on the wall) though the central shower head does flood the bathroom a bit since the door to the shower is only a half door. But the real treat is the touch light button on the tub - press and be surrounded by rotating lights in all sorts of colors - blue, purple, red, yellow - just wild. Pretty romantic setting to get prepared for a day of business meetings. The location is wonderful - right in the business and shopping district. And I loved the room. The room was small but so wonderfully efficient that it felt more than adequate. Even room to do yoga in the room in front of the window.I don't understand the negative comments. The lights in the room were also high tech touch lights. Incredibly comfortable bed. The hall smelled like paint but inside the room was fine. I would definately recommend this hotel. Service was lovely. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, grabbing my little carry on up and down stairs, leading me places if I asked where something was.

High Expectations..Low Results
I recently made a trip to Munich and based on friends experiences at other Kempinsky's,we went with expectations for a five star experience. To begin with the hotel is under renovation, and expect to be awaken as early as 7:15 am with the sounds of hammering as well as electric sawing. Coincidently when I attempted to call the front desk to report my displeasure no one picked up. Good thing we were on the first floor for at least two occosions the elevators were not working,and we walked down. A friend wanted a room change due to poor or no air conditioning and got an argument not a solution from the front desk. When he was finally was shown three rooms to move too,the a/c was not working in those either.Happily so the a/c in his room was fixed the next day. However I was taken aback by the extremely rude staff. They can certainely learn a lot from Four Season's on customer service! On a positive note the lobby was beautiful and wait staff terrific.

Our friends recommended this hotel. It was a mistake.
My expectations were quite high. The first impression was disappointment. A noisy lobby and chaos and problematic entry to the hotel by car. But ok, we're right in the city centre. There was a conference these days, and the hotel was fully booked. I don't like this situation. We had initially ordered a higher room category, but we had to accept ¿¿¿small change¿¿¿ because full occupancy and we got a small dark old shabby room. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr :-( Over our heads for all night someone stamped, so bad quality of sleep. Discomfort wet odour in the bathroom. The restaurant was full in the morning, we had to wait for the seating. Queues at the buffet were annoying. In the afternoon we sat in the lobby, we wanted to have glass of Champagne and staff absolutely did¿¿t work. So we went away after a while. Munich is a beautiful city, we had a couple of nice romantic days here. Fortunately, we had lunch and dinner in the city. But I will NOT definitely come back to this hotel. This has to be a five-star hotel?! Bad atmosphere, unsuccessful attempt to luxury and totally overpriced. I am angry at it to this day.

Very Good Service
I have been visiting this Hotel rather frequently in the past , more than 5 years ago,Not satisfied with the Service and organization at the time,I have changed to the Bayerisches Hof.Returned now and the Service has been really exellent and Personal.The Front desk Manager ( Teresa von Seubert) is a gem and really helped me out.Beautiful rooms .Yes, I will be back soon
