It won't deceive you!
At first glance it could seem it's not what you are looking for but once you pass the threshold you are 100% sure that this is the right place: Cozy, familiar and at the same time fashionable, respectable this hotel located in Paseo de la Castellana has many things to offer. Excellent spacious rooms with safe, iron, closet, living area, bedroom (very comfortable and big beds). Breakfast gourmet-type, what else is it that you are looking for to start your day full of emotions?? Very professional service.The staff friendly and always keen to help you. Even if it is 3 am.lol.For those who like Michelin restaurants, please book your table at the reception. The odds are that you will repeat your experience here.

Not worth the expense
It is really difficult to rate the Hesperia fairly, since it is clearly a good hotel, with an excellent location in the prime business area of Madrid. Yet, they managed to miss the mark in so many ways it is hard to even remember them all. We booked a twin-bedded room, and received a queen. We were told on check-in that our room was a deluxe twin, which it was not, and were offered a choice of room upgrade packages. We figured that with a deluxe twin in one of Madrid's prime hotels, who would need an upgrade? We were wrong. The room was so cramped that two people couldn't move about at the same time. For one person to get into the bathroom, the other person had to get into the bed. This "deluxe twin" had a single easy chair tucked away in a corner, with no view of the TV without standing up. The other person would be in bed, admittedly with a fine view of the TV. The only impressive thing was towels and bathroom amenities (Bvlgari). The view from the 8th floor window was into a concrete wall 10 meters away. At least it was quiet, with no outside exposure - but the steady throb of the ventilation made sleep itself an elusive luxury. At 30 Euros a throw, the breakfast was truly excellent, and again - not worth the expense. When what you want for breakfast is a helping of youghurt and a coffee, the elaborate show put up by the Hesperia is so over the top it's just ridiculous. As is the Michelin-rated restaurant - another huge disappointment, which will be the subject of a separate review.

90% right
The Hesperia hotel is conveniently located in the center of Madrid. Staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. Rooms are perfectly fine and equipped with everything you need. The entire hotel is well maintained and clean. Breakfast may have been the highlight of my stay, with a broad selection of good food, coffee, tea and juices (note though that if you're into English breakfast you will be disappointed). I also had a good dinner at their restaurant, and the hotel bar is nice too. Now for the negatives - connecting and then staying connected to their wifi with iPhones and iPads is somewhere between challenging and impossible. This urgently needs upgrading in a 5* property. Finally, their draft beer is terrible, so order bottled or, even better, wine - you are in Spain.

Wonderful hotel in a great city!
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed here for part of a tour and added an extra night to spend more time in Madrid. The location felt very safe, and you could walk to other locations - or you could easily catch a cab. While the hotel was a little pricier than some, it was a nice place to stay. The morning brunch buffet was also delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

Good value and decent stay but not 5 star standard
Stayed at this hotel for 1 night on business. The hotel is well located, the reception staff were helpful and the room was clean and fairly spacious given the location and price. Maybe it was just the style of the rooms, but I felt that the decor was a little bit outdated. Real shame that the gym was out of use when I was there as it was one of the main reasons for choosing this property. They had turned a guest room into a very small gym but it wasnt really the same....If you're looking for a good value, clean, 4/5 star hotel in this area I'd recommend it. Breakfast seemed really expensive, so didn't get a chance to sample it despite the great reviews.
