Unfortunately had to stay here with a group. If you don't mind many inconveniences stay here. We requested 1 double bed and received 2 single beds that are terribly uncomfortable. Rooms were very small and barely had space for our luggage. The rooms haven't been updated since the early 1990's. Seriously the TV on the wall was from 1991 and beds were probably also. When we entered the room our window was wide open with no screen or anything. Later noticed that there is no way to cool the room besides leaving the window completely open.There must only be paper between the walls as we could hear everything. Literally could make out convesations people were having.Floors were terrible loud to walk around on. Also only 1 lift that can only hold 5 people with no luggage and 2-3 with luggage.You need to shower at night or first thing as there is no hot water otherwise. Hotel staff knows nothing about area restaurants or good places to see. Literally asked about a pub around the corner and they didn't know of it.Later after coming back we identified that out toilet didn't flush. Hotel staff said that only one person was on duty so they couldn't fix it that night. One persons room in our group had water leaking from the ceiling into their room.

Although this hotel is well located, that is the ONLY thing it has going for it. Well location and clean sheets. The rooms are impossibly small. Very few electrical outlets, of which not all work. The floors creak beyond on belief. Some room doors cannot be latched when closed. You have to turn in your room key every time you leave as that is the ONLY key they have for your room. If you lose it, you are screwed. If you do stay, make certain you are on the TOP floor to avoid the creaking floor extreme noise. However, if you are on the top floor and there is a need for an emergency exit, good luck on finding your way out. The Fire Exits are an EXTREME maze of doors and stairs from floor to floor.You can feel the springs of the mattresses in all beds --- if the bed stays still long enough for you to get on or into it. BE CAREFUL because the entire bed moves on some and just the mattress off of the box spring on others.I had plenty of WARM water the first night, after that it was cold showers in the morning.It says internet service is provided,... and it is. But you have to be in a specific spot on the first floor, and even then it is spotty. They say there is access from the rooms, but they don't guarantee it. We were a group of 50 people, occupying 30 rooms. There isn't a one of us that can say positive things about this place.Our coach driver said ALL drivers are aware of the reputation of the hotels in the Paddington area - bad, bad, bad. Run, run, run. Run away to another place.

Arrived in reception for check in and it seemed we were an inconvenience to the male receptionist, he gave us our room key which was in the basement level. The hall leading to the room was dark and run down. Met a helpful chambermaid who directed us to our room and opened the door to find a twin room.We went back to reception to request the double we had booked (we had specifically requested a double room with the agency we had booked through : Olotel).The male receptionist upon our request became rude and started to huff and puff as he looked through the room list. My wife showed him our paperwork from the agency confirming a double room to which he replied I know you have booked a double room if you had booked with any other agency I would tell you you would not be able to have a double room. He then threw a key across the reception desk (room 406) and then ignored us both, as we walked off he then said "fussy people" under his breath. All we asked for was a double room we had booked not the crown jewels.We then went to room 406 to find someone's bags there. A few minutes later a porter arrived to take the bags away and asked if this double was ok . We were not expecting the Ritz when we booked the hotel and all we wished for was a double room, cleanliness and politeness. During the rest of our stay we had no hot water at all, the handle for toilet was virtually hanging off and you were afraid to flush the toilet to much in case the handle came off in your hand. There were many problems with the room and hotel in general that we could cope with but needless to say the hotel is very tired and in need of some serious updating. The continental breakfast in the morning was ok and the staff in the dining area were polite.Upon checking out we were told our paperwork had been lost including our credit card details . The young female receptionist was very apologetic stating she thought she had thrown the paperwork out during the night.As I said we were not expecting the Ritz and just wished for what we requested with cleanliness and politeness but unfortunately the hotel sadly let us down on these basic requests. I then rang the Hotel to speak with the general manager and 8 days on I am still waiting for his reply.I would say that we have stayed in far superior hotels at just and extra ¿¿10 - ¿¿20 a night and if you can spend just that little bit extra it would be well worth saving yourself any disappointment and only book this hotel as a very very last resort. To give you an idea Premier Inns knock spots off this very tatty hotel.It is a shame as the hotel is based around a nice square with good cafes very close to Paddington station.

Stayed at this hotel for one night B&B booked through LateRooms. It was nice and clean and a good size room with bath/shower. The carpets in my room were well worn but other than that it was clean and serviceable. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid the full hotel rate of ¿¿100 for a single room, although they gave me a twin, but late room got me the room for ¿¿55 ... better value.Hotel nicely situated for Paddington station and would make a good touring spot for London.

The hotel looks nice when u enter but the room is not nice at all.the carpets smell the bed shakes and the you can hear the noises from the other rooms.its a very old hotel.only the location is good only a two minute walk from paddington station.lots of restaurants around but would not recommend it.although the staff was very courteous and also served bfeakfast before it started as i was leaving early morning.
