I agree with all the other reviewers. Somebody is really doing the right things here. The finish in the apartment was excellent (even came up to my incredibly fussy partner's standards). It was well heated, the beds were clean and very comfortable, and the whole place just oozed 'luxury finish'. The kitchen was well equipped, and the bathroom was beautiful and spotless. The decor throughout was gorgeous. We took our two toddlers there on a rainy weekend in April, and couldn't fault it. Nice travel cot for our 21 month old, and exciting bunk beds for our 3.5 year old. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms meant that we got lots of sleep too (even with toddlers in tow).The icing on the cake would have been a sea view (we booked too late for that - and missed out). The basement flat was still really nice though. Great position overlooking the sea, with good access to all the sights of Scarborough.The staff were very friendly and professional, and parking outside the apartment was easy and free (with a pass provided by the owners). Although it was by no means cheap (¿¿269 for three nights), we thought it was a very fair price for the place. We will definately be back!

Stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary. Decor was nice. Our room was small but very adequate. Bed was most comfortable we've ever stayed in. Couldnt fault 'The Helaina' in any way. Was made to feel very welcome by all staff and would def go back again.

We've just returned from yet another wonderful stay in the B&B! Lovely warm welcome on arrival, really swift check in and we were taken up to our room. We stayed in deluxe sea view, room 4 and it was lovely as always. Excellent breakfast in the morning! I love the guest lounge to relax in on an evening and read the papers from the day. Wonderful service the entire time we were there. I have recommended this hotel to family and friends and a few of them have visited on for themselves and agree that it's the best place to stay in Scarborough!! Don't hesitate, just book it!!!

Had just checked in to another hotel which we were very disappointed with when we came across this hotel. We were looking at the board outside when a very friendly lady asked us if we wanted to look around. We declined because we had already paid for the other hotel. However the next morning we had checked out of our hotel as it was so poor and decided to try the Helaina as we were so impressed with the friendliness of who we later found out was the owner. We were greeted by Leanne who was very pleasant and friendly who showed us the rooms and then offered us a drink and some danish pastries while we checked in.We weren't disappointed!It is a lovely hotel with friendly,helpful staff. The rooms are very luxurious and spotlessly clean.I had the best nights sleep as the beds are so comfortable with lovely pillows.We cannot fault this hotel and will definately return.

Second visit to The Helaina once again a pleasure to stay in such a lovely well decorated clean hotel , the hosts are so friendly and make you feel v welcome. The rooms are to a high standard and beds v comfortable . A place to stay and we will return
