Totally modern within full view of the old huge castle
We enjoyed our brief stay at this hotel in the heart of Trim. We took the Trim Castle tour during the day and loved it, and seeing the hotel from the top of the castle made me realize that we had chosen the perfect place to overnight. That evening we had an excellent meal and service there in the hotel with the antiquity in full view, then enjoyed a sunset walk all around the castle, seeing it from all its various perspectives. The room itself was plush and upscale, totally comfortable, and the staff members were all helpful and polite, despite being very busy.

Well appointed hotel but.....
There are many positive aspects to this hotel, many of which have been alluded to in earlier reviews. Both the public areas and the bedrooms are spacious and well appointed, it has tremendous views of Trim Castle and is easily accessed from major routes. The food in the bar is a bit mixed. We ate in it on two consecutive evenings with some dishes better than others. The staff are extremely efficient, even when it is busy, but could perhaps make more of an effort in the customer-interaction department. My main issue, however, concerns the noise emanating from a wedding. We had a room on the 1st floor, on a corridor directly off the lobby adjacent to the Great Hall where weddings are held. As there was already a wedding in progress when we arrived at the hotel I asked the receptionist about moving from there but she assured me that those rooms were fine and that the noise didn't get through to them. In terms of the music etc itself she was quite right, it was possible to hear some music noise but it wasn't intrusive and ended at a reasonable hour. Two issues arose later however, the noise generated by what appeared to be every taxi in county Meath collecting a very boisterous crowd beneath our window. This went on for the best part of an hour and a half, from about 3.30am onwards. It was exacerbated by the racket from drunken wedding guests mistaking their room numbers and shouting in the corridor immediately outside our room. It was necessary to call hotel reception at 3.55am to get this sorted, which, in fairness, they dealt with pretty quickly. Other members of our group were elsewhere in the hotel and didn't have the same noise issues. Suggestion to hotel: the double doors leading from the lobby areas on the floors should have swipe card access only to prevent the kind of annoyance we encountered.

Good food
My wife and i brought our family here for our daughters confirmation lunch, we booked a table in the bar and it was nicely set and layed out for us! The bar was very busy when we came in first, staff here are a credit to the hotel as there was only two girls on but they were very efficient and friendly, Catrina looked after us and she couldnt have done enough for us so thanks to her! We all had carvery and it was very tasty and hot which is often not the case wgen it comes to carvery! Overall a great day, would definetly recommend this hotel for a family day out!

Excellent service, lovely hotel
I stayed in Trim Castle hotel recently for a wedding, and as someone who has been to a lot of weddings over the last few years, in some lovely venues, this venue definatly came out on top. Everything about it was perfect, from the food to the staff to the lovely room we stayed in. I was part of the bridal party and the extra touches that the staff add to the day are amazing, and really give it that extra something special. Nicest wedding food I have had, it wasnt like wedding food, it was what you would expect from a top class restaurant. Breakfast the next morning was perfect too. The staff are what makes this hotel, especailly Mags, thank you to everyone for a lovely experience.

Good Irish welcome and service
My wife and I came over from England for my brother's 70 birthday party there being about 70 people catered for. Pre meal drinks of a Summer punch based on Labrusco and Strawberies* should have been held on the roof but the weather put paid to that! So we had them in the convivial atmosphere of the spacious hallway out side the large room used for our meal.*Athough my brother had agreed the contents of the punch beforehand, the person making up the mix had added oranges to which my wife is allergic. She was therefore unable to partake in the punch until a separate orange free mix was made up. It appears that the remnants were later added to the main mix so she was only able to have one glass.The meal and service was excellent.Wifi: when we checked in we were given a coded voucher with instructions on linking our iPhones to the hotel buzz wifi, but we're unable to do so. Later we found that other guests in our party had had the same problem and making outgoing phone calls had to be made on the Reception phone.Our full Irish breakfast was very good in many ways and the staff were happy for us to linger and chat over our coffee.In all a very pleasant stay apart from the 2 items mentioned.
