Can't comment on the Hotel but visited with a group of friends, as we were staying at the neighbouring campsite, for a pre-booked meal for 13 of us. ( Note: they knew we were coming). There was only 1 person serving at the bar and taking food orders so initial service was slow. Gin and tonics were served with no Ice and lemon. We helped out by writing our own food order and then waited.....and waited....and waited. The meals started to appear just over an hour later. Cold plates. overcooked veg, small portions and it took so long to serve us all that some had finished their meal before some were served. To be fair our dissatisfaction was noticed and the excuse was it was a new chef and we were offered a round of complimentory drinks. Needless to say we went somewhere else the next evening.

Good points: rooms lovely and clean, cleaned every day with everything replenished. Friendly helpful staff, willing to chat with good local knowledge. Price point was good when booked through late rooms. Great location and parking.Not so good: breakfast was let down by simple things (ie lack of sauces, no menu, no glasses for juice etc) and basic ingredients. However, still edible and served nice and hot :) there was no shower in the bathroom. Only a bath with a hose. A simple hose clip would have transformed the bathroom!Would stay again though as it was only ¿¿40pn and quite good value!

The beggars roost - stopped for a quick meal on the way to our cottage. The welcome was friendly but sadly, the restaurant was cold, smelly and in need of some investment. They had no menus as these were in the process of being redone, the toilets needed cleaning and we were the only customer, which in itself was a concern. We had a drink and left without ordering any food.It is a shame because the member of staff was very nice and friendly and the location is excellent. But until they make an effort to improve the facilities, clean up the place and put in place some decent menus, I will not be returning again very soon.

I wanted a hotel which allowed dogs, near to some great walks, where I could walk the dog, do some work and not have to leave the dog in the car whilst I eat dinner. The Exmoor Manor met my needs, the room was comfortable, the food was good, I had value for money, plenty of car parking and easy to let the dog out.internet connection worked well. Staff were great, very friendly and helpfulNot everything was perfect, the breakfast room was cold, I didn't have a shower and the tiles in the bathroom needs some elbow grease, there was no mobile coverage, towels were a bit small but were clean.I would go back there again.

Had a lovely couple of days here, staff couldn't do more for you, breakfast was lovely and our room was lovely really big and the bathroom great and the pub really cosy although we didn't eat in the pub but will next time and we will defiantly come back and bring our dogs :-) x
