This was my second visit here. It is a beautiful house and is decorated very tastefully. The breakfast was to die for. Thankyou Jacqueline for your hospitality.Its a great shame it will no longer be a B & B but it wil certainly be a really great holiday let. The rooms are all immaculate and decorated to a very high standard. All the rooms are a good size and so are the ensuites. The area has some lovely restaurants and coffee shops and some great walks especially valley of the rocks and watersmeet. A lovely part of the Country.

We stayed one night during the Easter break. On arrival, the staff were very friendly and inviting. Victoria Lodge is set in a good location in Lynton, and is only a very short walk to the shops, restaurants and pubs. And also to the Cliff Railway which takes you down to the equally lovely Lynmouth. Victoria Lodge is an immaculate building, with a reading room and a quiet room downstairs that you are free to sit in whenever you like. The d¿¿cor is very sympathetic to the style of the building, with plenty of old pictures, book and antiques to keep you entertained. The quiet room has a fridge with alcohol, and an honesty box where you write what you've taken and they add it to your bill at the end. A great idea!!The room itself was cosy, very clean and well laid out. The bed was very comfy and large. The shower and toilet en suite were simple but fine. The sink was in the main room. We were told by the owners that there was a separate bathroom down the corridor with a bath in, should we fancy it. But we didn't get time to check it out. There were tea making facilities.The only slight negative we had about this place is that when we booked in, we wanted to take a shower, but the water was not hot. However, they had let us book in a couple of hours early, so we put it down to that. The water later on was perfectly fine. Breakfast choices were made the evening before. They mention that they have a varied range and early booking enables them to offer this. I chose smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast, and my partner chose the eggs benedict. Both were absolutely stunning, but I would definitely recommend the salmon - it was beautiful! In the lovely dining room, there was also an extensive choice of freshly made yogurt, fruit, juices, jams, local honey, and cereals. We were also offered freshly baked muffins, which would have been rude not to take one - they were great. Looking at other visitors choices, the full English looked good too. Tea and coffee and extra toast were limitless.Although the weather was not great when we stayed, Victoria Lodge has a large well maintained patio garden with plenty of places to relax. There was parking at the rear.All in all, this place was lovely and deserves top marks. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at the Victoria lodge for 2 nights BB in October and when we arrived Jacqueline the owner greeted us at the front door and made us very welcome and some tea and biscuits.the room we had was very nice,because the hotel was quiet she upgraded us to her best room for the same price and it was lovely,big bed and a snug area for watching tv.The breakfast was very good,everything from fresh fruit to cereals and an extremely good cooked selection.overall an excellent short stay.

We booked our stay at Victoria Lodge at the last minute and it was the best decision we have made in a long time.Very friendly welcome on arrival and excellent accomodation.Buffet table selection at breakfast was exceptional followed by a varied choice of cooked breakfasts which were all well prepared and really set you up for the day.A very good base for exploring this area of Devon.Will definitely be returning.Kay and David.

I have just returned from a last minuted planned trip down to the lovely village of Lynton with my partner to do a bit of coastal walking and drinking of Guiness.I found the Victoria Lodge by chance on the Internet and booked it based on its recommendations. Without going into to my detail, this is a first class Bed and Breakfast for the following reasons:1. People - the owner and her staff were nothing less than professional and extremely welcoming from arrival to departure.2. Rooms - immaculate and very comfortable indeed ( the bed was amazing).3. Food - the breakfast was wonderful.4. Decor - as you would wish from a building with historical links to a by gone age! The decor is beautiful and the house is immaculately clean.I would recommend this lovely B and B to any of my friends and family and I will definitely return.Chris & Julie
