Wonderful hotel! They are just finishing up renovations and it is absolutely gorgeous! The staff is so friendly, talking with my children, very helpful as well. The valet, a bit expensive, but very nice, open and closes car doors for you, unloads and loads your luggage, brings luggage up to room for you, calls taxi for you! Great location only a block from Michigan Ave. The fitness center is amazing, there is a lot of equipment, not just a few pieces. Will definitely stay again!

Our room #1407 faces St Clair Street. My husband and I are very sensitive to noise and we hardly noticed any ambulance sirens during our three-night stay. NOTHING like staying in midtown New York. The insulation within the hotel is also very good. The room is spacious and everything is new. Nice comfortable beds.Concierge is particularly helpful. They print boarding passes for guests.For breakfast, I highly recommend the Corner Bakery Cafe across the street - a lot of healthy choices.We will definitely return to the hotel when we next visit Chicago.

This is your typical Hyatt so do not expect to find something unique. But I fully enjoyed my stay here, the staff was amazingly friendly and happy. Our room was very big and roomy, the bathrooms were soo nice!! Be warned there is a clear shower, but it was fun! The location is amazing only a block away from the magnificent mile! We also had a great view in room 1477 The only downside was the room didn't have a mirror in it, there was two in the bathroom, but with the clear shower a little inconvenient.

I wouldn't have chosen to stay in a corporate chain if I was paying with my own money, but since I had no choice in the matter I have to admit that it could have been much worse.It is true that renovations are ongoing, but I was not bothered by any noise and the layout was not troublesome. The staff are helpful and a bit less false than at some other large Chicago hotels. There were a couple of nice touches: the fridge in the room is just that - no mini-bar, just somewhere to keep things cool. Also the Macs in the lobby allow 30mins free internet usage - not much, I grant you, but again quite a leap compared to the competitors.Unfortunately I hated the room. The usual uncontrollable air-con. The usual fixed windows. The most hostile lighting I think I have ever come across, including a floor-level, motion-sensitive affair that was, frankly, alarming. Very limited range of Tv channels (unusual, and perhaps due to the refurbishment work).The gym is well-equiped, and there is a small but highly chlorinated pool.So, not the worse, but still not somewhere to which I would chose to return.

An x- Wyndham hotel refurbished,...... sorry, not yet completely refurbished hotel, in a good location of the Mag- Mile. There is no restaurant, no bar, and still interior construction to be completed. My room phone was inoperative, of which I noticed late evening, having to go down too the lobby, full of prom-niters. I had to wait quite a bit to be assisted. In the end I gave up waiting and being surrounded by a TOO colorful crowd. I fixed the phone myself. Later in the evening getting a knock on the door from a repairman asking if he could fix the phone that was noted by the housekeeping staff long before my check in.My TV had five working channels because the cable company did not completely finish all of the proper connections. I just rest on my time in hotels, so leaving my room , on short stays in not an option. When they asked me when I was going to leave the room so the repair man could look at the TV connections, I just gave them a simple, maybe next time.My company provides hotel booking and hotel payment for me for my job. They apparently didn't realize that they booked a room at a cost over 500 dollars, with none of my contractual needs as well. At this price, and with all the money my company spends on this hotel chain with yearly contracts throughout the US, for thousands of employees,you would think free wifi, free 1800 calls , and discount to the hotels restaurants and bars , or other amenities would be provided. Although I did pick a bone with my company travel department, my company travel department did contact the hotel manager to try to work something out. The Hyatt management, would not budge in giving any type of convention for the inconveniences that this particular hotel locatiin has shown.This is a pretty, or will be a pretty chic hotel.....when its completedHyatt should balance what they should be providing and what they cannot provide as basics to high standard hotels. They actually should not even be accepting any guests at this time as far as I can see.
