Good hotel but golf is incredibly slow
We have played the course at La Finca over the years and it has always been quiet. The last time we played was 3 years ago just as the hotel was about to open. What a difference 3 years make. Clearly given the economic climate in Spain they are looking to maximise revenue and thatbshowednon the course. Teeing off after 9am and you're in for a long round. 4 hours 40 minutes in our case. Due to hackers on the course which is a shame as it is a great course. No request to see handicap certificates and the course marshall not out telling people to speed up. Hotel is good and staff very friendly. Rooms are big, clean and have good facilities. Restaurant is quite pricey but buffet good at ¿¿¿25 per head. It is in the middle of nowhere so if you want to eat something different you will need to drive. Given how packed and slow the course was we have decided not to return here.

Quality but isolated
As part of a golf party this hotel fulfilled our needs but is in an isolated location. It is a large modern hotel with good sized comfortable rooms. Don't worry about the photographs if you are sharing, there is plenty room to move the beds and place the sofa between them! Breakfast was adequate with freshly prepared eggs on request. We had the buffet dinner twice which was excellent and good value at 25 euros. I can confirm previous comments about the water temperature, it did fluctuate without warning. Room temperature was fine with efficient air conditioning.A car is essential if you wish to get out and about. Algorfa is a 5min taxi ride away, but beware, there isn't much in Algorfa. We did, however, find an excellent tapas restaurant and a friendly pub with drinks a fraction of the price in the hotel.The golf course was busy but we managed round in just over 4 hours on the 2 occasions we played, much faster than the other courses we played. Early morning tee times may be the reason for this.

Good hotel, but!
As said before, the hotel is good, very modern style. I was on a boys golf trip, and we like to go out at night. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, you will to need a taxi to get out and about, which adds up cost wise. Staying in is equally expensive as the drinks are not cheap. Apart from breakfast, we did not eat in. Breakfast was good, chef on duty and cooks your eggs to order. In conclusion we would not go again due to it's location, I personally prefer La Manga because of the bars on site and 24 hour shuttle bus. However, if you want a nice hotel spa and to stay on site, it is OK.

Ok but not great
We chose a superior (or relaxed) room for our two night stay and it was large and stylish looking, but not exactly comfortable. We had difficulty controlling the temperature of both the air conditioning and the hot water, so although we had a great looking wet room, using the shower was like a game of Russian roulette! There was a water heater for hot drinks, but only herbal teas provided. However the sink was very shallow with a fixed central tap, which the water heater did not fit under. It had a nice balcony with view over the 10th green. The room could be super with a bit more attention to practical details. We had a b&b rate but the self service buffet restaurant was a bit like a school canteen and the hot breakfast wasn't good apart from the eggs cooked to order. There was a selection of fresh and dried fruits, a few cold meats and cheese and a few pastries, so we were able to eat a continental breakfast. As a result of this experience we chose not to eat dinner in the hotel, but had a sandwich at the bar at lunchtime, which came with fries and salad and was fine. We were there to visit friends in the area, but I would only recommend this hotel for golfers, not holidays.

Great hotel
Stayed here last year same time, Hotel very good breakfast good, the spa is a bit of a con as you have to pay extra which I think is not on in a 5 star hotel, The golf this year was very slow 5 and a half hour round the first day, there were far to many hackers on the course, under instruction on how to play, and apparently the Scandinavians have handicaps up to 36, well some of the people playing weren't as good as that, they need to marshal the course better. This is a golfing resort after all. I don't think we will return again as there is nothing else in the area besides golf.
